Every friday nite after the clubs and parties a whole bunch of tuners meet up for the so called races.. but before anyone leaves the lot where everyone meets, a guy walks up to me and tells me nice car and says he has one too. So we start talking and he tells me to be careful where i park my car because the weekend before that they had broke in into his. So as we start walking to his car he shows me his door, the door handle was gone. It didnt seem like much was done to the door, other than the door handle being gone. He says he doesnt know how they broke in, but they did. Also he pointed out that the push start button was tampered with, it looked like they tried taking it off. Well to make a long story short they tooks this guys stuff. I know someone here also got broken into a while back but dont know if this was how. Anyways you guys think its fairly easy to open our doors?.

if you lock it with the remote and then reach in and unlock the lock lever the alarm/horn will go off

Yes the alarm does go off if you lock it with your remote. I ran into the car the other day as I was running up to it in heels (trying to get out of the rain.) I didn't slow down fast enough and bumped the car. The alarm did go off just from my bumping into it on the rear quarter panel and I only weigh 130 pounds.

This story does freak me out a little bit though. I live in "NORTHERN Mexico" here in Arizona and I am always worried my car is going to get jacked by some a-hole who doesn't have any respect for anyone's belongings.

Anyway, if I hear anything else on this issue, I will post up.

Take it easy and good luck you all with keeping your cars....Lets all hope we do. lol.

I am neither more nor less concerned about this car being stolen than I was with any other car I've owned.

If someone wants to take or break into your car, they will find a way to do it. Whether it takes a key or remote sensor or Intelligent key to open your vehicle, the bottom line is if someone really wants it, they will take it.

I understand your concern about the possibility of it being even MORE easy to break into a car with an Intelligent Key vs. one without, but I doubt that. If anything, the new technology will make it harder for people to break in for now. Eventually, they will figure it out and cars will be stolen, as the have been for years.

If somebody wants to steal a vehicle or break into a vehicle and they're determined enough, nothing will stop them. Keep all personal belongings out of view and don't make yourself too big of a target and you should be alright.

Eg; parking your car in the slummiest part of town is just asking for trouble.

If you're all so worried, invest in an after market security system. Seems like a nominal amount to protect such an expensive belonging.

yeah i understands everyones view point on this but i was just amazed how the hell they were able to take off a door handle and open the door. No smashed windows and no damage to the door whatsoever. I was just shocked, im guessing like all u say if they really want it they are gonna take it!

Well, I recently got my car and the first thing I got for the car was a Kill Switch. Basically if they don't got the intelligent key that was program for the car it will just become immobilize.

I also decided to get an Auto lock for the clutch. Some say it dont work but it's better than nothing.

HIJACK FOR A SECOND.............BELOW........

You know this conversation made me think, has anyone had any problems with the key not being in the car and being able to drive it away?

Maybe I should post somewhere else, but I was curious... I valeted the car the other night, got in and left when we picked it up. Drove about a mile away dn noticed the key light came on. Turned around and went back to the valet and he handed me the key. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? Seriously, I thought the car would not allow you drive away without the key? SCAREY THOUGHT!

you can drive the car as far as you want without the key just as long as you don't shut off the car

Key only needs to be -near- the car to start it.

Your name isn't Tanya Harding by any chance is it?
