HAHAHAHA. That's something I would do. Only, I would have gone all the way to the shoulder and made the driver stop then I would have drove off.

Awesome. Trooper FTW. Substitute an Avalon for that Civic and it could have been my father-in-law. :chuckle:

:lolling: That is pure awesome. That officer deserves a bonus!

I wish more would do that too, I get behind at least 5 idiots holding up traffic on my way to work every morning. The speed limit is 55, NOT 35

AFAIK in NJ, left lane is not a travel lane. It's supposed to be passing only, right?

In reality, it's broken field driving due to congestion and the impatience of the typical NJ Driver, but the law there says you're supposed to stay right unless passing, but how far ahead the car being passed is located before moving over to pass is a common debate.

In northern NJ, drivers like the one in the video are commonly elderly, who believe they're doing the speed limit, so dagnabbit, you impatient young whippersnappers should not be going any faster than them. :)

Correct, however no one really abides by the rule. That said, if you are traveling in the left lane you had better be passing or at least 10 mph over the posted limit. I've had troopers come up on me like that sans lights in the left lane over the speed limit and as long as you get out of their way they leave you alone.

Law in Massachusetts: if you drive a quarter mile without passing anybody, you shouldn't be in the left lane.

I guess technically the law is that the left lane is passing only, but we all know that the left is just the fast lane for constant speed limit+10, not passing only.
