I'm in the process of rebuilding my BBS RS rims, and have been having trouble removing the face from the barrel of the wheel- the lips came off without too much trouble. I got advice from an expert that you can sandwich the wheel between some lumber and have better control with hammering the face off. Difficult to get everything to hold still, so I decided to use some spare lumber and $12 worth of new lumber and screws to make this:I still can't get the damn face off.

Definitely not cutting. At this point, I may be able to have the wheels powdercoated with a lot of masking and then reattach the lips, but I'd prefer to completely disassemble and get it done right.

If you dont mind my asking...how much did you pay for those? And you could try heating the barrel with a torch and THEN wailing on it.

Yeah, I've been using a heat gun and pounding on it, cutting into the groove with a utility blade; it just doesn't want to give.I bought these off a member (former member?) years ago and don't remember the exact price- probably around $600. I had been told that there was some fixable curb damage...... wasn't told I wouldn't be able to use one until it was fixed. It took me a long time to find someone that sold replacement lips- until now I ran 15" RSs in front and 16 in rear.

Thanks! Exact same problems I've run into. I guess I'll be looking around for a torch.
