Hi all. I just wanted to say I've been a member of other forums for years but when I aquired my 240 I though I'd give this one a try. Since then I have posed many questions that I was unable to find answers to in the "search" box. I was honestly surprised to find not a single valid reply.

The other forums were not so nearly closed off and short sided as you all apear to be here. So for all of you I thankyou for being so rude to a new member. One I might add was a master auto and diesel technition with associates degrees in auto/diesel and aircraft electrical. I guess when all you have time to do is post, one such member has over 10,k posts in 4 years, then you realy don't have time to work on the cars themselves. I guess it separates the doers from the talkers.

lol! Good point. The many post numbers are a popularity contest vanity affair to me. However, I occasionally run into a good post by a Mr. K. We just need to realize that we are working with very young people at times. Some, which have bought their very first car that, choose to work on their own vehicle for whatever reasons. What I am saying is experience in these forums may only be first hand by non-professional mechanics that share the same interest as you and me. And maybe just once in a while we do find that one respondent who really took the time to fully answer a technical post without an uneducated guess...I hold 3 ASE certified titles myself and do not prance around talking about them. In this virtual world, sometimes titles don’t mean a thing to the next person posting. It becomes unwanted clutter. All they want is answers either professional or not…

Good luck.
