I have a '92 Vert and I've been having problems for two years with loss of power and noxious fumes. I've doublechecked all my vac lines, replaced the cat, replaced the O2 sensor, tested the EGR, I'm just done . Is there a good tech in Los Angeles that I can have look at this problem? Someone that knows the KA24 inside and out? I've already been burned for a large sum of money by a place called Finishline Automotive, the guy knew nothing about Nissans and didn't even notice the vaccuum lines were kaboshed (I did that after I got it back from him)

No, no rotten egg smell, it's more of a sickening rich unburnt fuel smell. MAFS was "serviced" by the guy I took it to when I first gave up on fixing it myself . along with temp sensor, injectors, and a reveiw of the computer. I was miffed when I dove into it again myself and found he hadn't even checked vaccuum lines, and that the swirl valve was not connected . I just really want to find a guy that will take it off my hands and do it right.

Some of the worst service I've ever received was at dealerships, I'll hold out to see if Nistech or Chris have a referral for me.

ThanksM

I love it, I get everyone's opinions and no help, I thought this was an owners group, they're supposed to help each other not complain about "cluttered pages"

Thanks for nothing

well aren't you a little *****

attitude like that when you're demanding help really won't get you a positive response, *****

regarding your problem: a lot of times, the "service" just just cleaning, but if it's broken it's got to be replaced.

the best "tech" usually is you, only you know how much you want tp spend, only you are willing to go that extra mile to get it fixed, and only you will have the incentive to fix it.

I recommand borrowing others maf, injectors and see if that rememdy the problem. If it doesn't help... go to the junk yard, buy it, then if it doesn't resolve the problem, return it and say it doesn't work

First off. Chris nor myself are any where near LA , second we are both dealer techs. So bite your damn tongue!! If I were to recommend a shop to you it would have been a dealer as they are the most compitent to work on it. They know more about your car then any hole in the wall shop like you took it to.

Third , I seen no ones opinion here any any negative fashion. 180fan gave you some advise and asked a question to help you out. xxblindxx also gave you some good advise.

Your post was made a little over 24hrs ago. I sat back and waited for someone possibly in that area to give you advice first as I dont know the independants down there. In that short time you are already throwing a tantrum. You sir are not the only person in here looking for help SO COOL YOUR JETS or move along.

If I recall correctly, you said you did the work on the MAFS yourself, but during that service, did you also check over the plugs and the wires?

I owe you guys an apology, I've really been miffed about this car and frankly I'm ready to give up on it and move away from Nissans. I apologize for ragging on dealer techs, and I wasn't saying I was unwilling to take it to a dealership but some dealerships can be worse than a hole in the wall shop. You will find me much more pliable now, as the rage of being bent over by two lousy techs is subsided

Regards

the best thing to do at this point is get the car hooked up to a consult and see what everybody is doing, injector pulse, maf reading,CT reading,02 reading. This will give a tech a good idea if all is well. Something you could try is to loosen and resecure the ecm grounds in the engine bay.

I assume all the problems you initially posted are still present?
