This is in regards to the problems with the 1st Generation Altima Coupe.
I have a friend at my college (let's call him John) who has a friend (let's call him Bob) who worked on the Altima Coupe. John said that Bob showed him the CAD drawings of the Altima Coupe a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly, I think John said that the A/C was 7 years in the making (??). Anyway, Bob got to drive a hand built model of the A/C...sans badges of course. Bob let John drive it around. I mentioned to John that a lot of people are having problems with the A/C. John mentioned that they were having problems with some of the pre-production models, but Nissan was still producing them. What kind of problems, he did not mention. It could have been fabrication problems or other things. Now if Nissan went 6 Sigma the amount of problems would probably be greatly reduced.
I wonder how many 1st Generation cars have major problems...not just Nissan but any 1st Generation makes. Does any one know? This is my first, 1st Generation Car.
Personally for me, I've had no major problems with my A/C...just 2 minor ones. Just the seat feels a little lose, and the trunk lining doesn't say up. I've had my car since July and currently have 5000 miles on it. I must be a lucky one. Watch me go drive it now and have problems...
Hopefully, the next batch in 2009 will be problems free. To those with troubles regarding the A/C, I hope everything gets fixed in a timely, reasonable manner. Best wishes to all.
