Iv been putting off doing my harness for my sr swap for quite some time now because of my poor quality soldering iron. soon ill have all the stuff needed to start the car so i need to get this stuff done. ok first off, i wanna do a slight tuck (extending each injector wire a few inches to sit under my manifold instead of on top) but i was told that some things on the harness are very specific voltage and shouldnt be messed with. What are the things that i cant touch? Injectors? CAS? id like to wrap the CAS wires around the back of the head cover and come up the side instead of the front but im not sure if i should.

im confused with this because ive seen the ultimate wire tuck giude where he redid pretty much everything.

You can extend the injector wires without problems if you make quality and meticulous solders using the same gauge/quality wire to extend them. If you put too much solder it can increase resistance in the circuit and affect them adversely.

I did all the work on Jeff's car in the ultimate wire tuck thread.

dont mess with the CAS wiring. will look/work stupid.

injectors are ok.

just invest in a GOOD iron (weller) and good solder.

follow the link in my sig to my thread. as long as its legit questions ill answer them there. otherwise prepare to be verbally destroyed

:D

would any of you happen to know the gauage wire used for the injector wires?

what is meant by "good" solder? im using 99% tin and 1% rasin flux core.

18g. use the remnants of your KA harness. it uses the same injector colors.

ok i got a few things done. maf and o2 wires are extended, lengthened each injector wire so i can tuck them, and im almost done with the harness. i just have one more problem. im using the fr sport wiring guide

http://www.frsport.com/SR20DET....html

the last portion says to cut the plugs off the sr and use the ka ones but if you look at the brown wire it says to use any 12v switch or the main ignitoin wire. do i just solder both the main ignition wires together with the brown one? why cant i just solder it to the brown one on the harness or one of the ac relays that arent being used? they will give 12v correct?

and the unused wires i just tape off?

be sure to use silver solder with flux paste,it keeps the resistance down .kind of expensive but worth every penny.

simply hook that brown wire into the junction of Blue/Red+ 2x Black/Red. works like a charm.
