Figured I'd post some of the work I've been doing on my daily since the 240 isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Shortly after I bought it, I threw on a set of 98 headlights, turn signals, and taillights

Image

Then I got a good deal on an RMM front lip, also got a 98 grill.

Image

And finally last week I got wheels. They're CCW sp500's in 19x10, 19x11.5 with 255/30's up front and 295/30's in the back.

Image

Image

Then yesterday I picked up a TRD style hood

Image

And today I painted it

Image

Next on the list, some much needed coilovers :dblthumb:

So that's what I've been up to while I'm waiting on CP to make my pistons for the Vert

I'm gonna let my Z32 rivalry stew in the corner and compliment you as a fellow Supra owner (MKIII).

Thing looks nice. Really nice. Just no so sure on the hood. I usually don't like vented hoods, and this one is no exception. I think the stock one looked a little better. Just my opinion, though. Those wheels look awesome, though!

Also, good call on losing the spoiler.

That is sexy. I usually don't like vented hoods, but for some reason I do like that one (after you painted it). Wheels are super-sexy, as is that lip (good call not going monochromatic). Losing the wing, yes.

Needs moar lower, so get those coils. Still a real head-turner as it sits now, though. I jelly.

I thought the vented hood looked like poop as bare carbon fiber, but with it painted I think the car looks really great. I is jelly. Nice car!

Normally I hate vented hoods, but I actually kinda like that one. Congrats on a super clean-looking car.

Nioce, think it needs more low and the spoiler back.

Heart sank when I saw the CF hood, then saw the painted picture. SAFE!

i like the painted version of the vented hood. love the wheels. the wing for me is an either way deal. it'd look good with or without it.

Thanks for the comments!

Ya, I wasn't too sure on the hood, but after I painted it I decided it's staying. Something about the shape and location of the vents just does it for me, or maybe it's because I was 12 when the fast and the furious came out :gapteeth: . I think it turned out pretty good for being rattle canned in my backyard. This shows where the fender meets the hood(hood on top, fender on bottom)

Image

The fitment is awesome and the color came out really close, just slightly darker due to 17 years of fading on the car.

I still have a ton of wetsanding/buffing to do on it, but here's a teaser of how far I've gotten so far

Image

I'm still 50/50 on the spoiler. The car is a factory wingless, and there is no way I'm drilling holes on a vin matched hatch, so the only way it's going on is if I find another hatch. Then I can swap em back and forth :) The car looks cleaner wingless, but the spoiler matches the aggressive look of the hood/wheels and kinda ties it all together. Ugh, still not sure. Maybe I should just find a way to make the spoiler super magnetic :chuckle:

I did put down a deposit on a 2jzgte that's still in my buddies 97 MKIV w/ 89k well maintained miles, but it's gonna be a while before I get the 6speed trans and all the other little odds and ends needed for the swap. For now, I'm just enjoying the reliability. The car still drives like the day it came off the lot :woot:

Also forgot to add the CF diffuser I put on a few months back. It's one of my favorite parts on the car.

I can't wait to get coilovers, the car needs it so bad :yesnod

Back end needs something to balance it aesthetically with the diffuser.

A lower stance + some spacers for the rear wheels should do just that.

Lookin good!

FINALLY finished wetsanding/buffing the hood

Image

Image

I used 2K rapid primer and clearcoat along with Sherwin Williams Ultra 7000 basecoat to paint the hood. I love peoples reactions when I tell them it was spray painted

Image

And it's finally at the perfect daily driving ride height :woot:

Image

With plenty of clearance...

yeah, I like the two hatch idea. just make a connector for the 3rd brake and it'd be pretty swappable. Definitely would look meaner with a wing and a diffuser.

You desperately need coilovers! Are you planning on NA-T? What have you done as far as structural bracing or do you feel like you need it at all? My friend's MKIV reportedly benefited a lot from do-luck bars, but he's got a monster setup under the hood and drives the piss out of it.

Hood looks great from the pics.
