Couple of quick questions about pistons and turbo. i dont know where to start.

Im planning on rebuilding my ka with forged internals and running greddy emanage ultimate. Now i would like to be in the 400 whp range.

I am about to purchase some supertech pistons for my ka rebuild. I know that lower compression pistons are better for boost but i want to know if the 8.6:1 pistons would be so much better for my application than the 9.1:1 pistons. For that power level would the 8.6 be necessary? I plan on having my block and head decked so that would SLIGHTLY raise my compression.

Now the turbo i was thinking about running is the Full Race T3/T04e turbo. I dont know if the 57 trim or the 60 would be better and what a/r houseing, .63 or .82. Full race states that this turbo would make the power range that i am looking for, but what do you think? I know it will take longer to spool than some other turbos that i could run.

i know im am leaving out alot of details that i will include if you like. I just didnt want to type 3 pages worth of stuff. thanks.

If this is your first turbod car, you should use the lowered compression as a buffer zone for tuning errors or wastegate failure. Also to hit 400 hp you would have high boost levels.

If your rebuilding, build with the lower compression pistons imo.

That turbo would be fine, but the all around best performer on pump gas and a 2.4 li engine is the 50 trim, .63 ar. You can hit 400 hp with that, and get better boost response.

Oh ok thank. Yeah i was starting to lean towards the 8.6:1 pistons.

Would you know at what approx. psi i would need to hit 400whp with that turbo?

Also, what injectors do most people run. I know im going to need 720's or higher. Would the 75# injectors that AMS carry be ok, or is there another injector you would run?

What I would recommend is get the Arias 8.8:1 Pistons, and the T3/t4 50 trim turbo. Also do not forget about the RODS which seems to be the weakest link in the KA too.

The 50 trims have been proven over and over again to work best with the KA, and will get you to 400rwhp no problems.

As for injectors look for something around 650cc, 650cc will give you approximately 80% duty cycle at around 450hp

From there all you need is tune tune tune. We have guys on here with over 400rwhp on stock blocks, and amazing tunes that is ...

Well just for ease of finding parts i was going to order a rebuild package from underground motor sports.

The package contains supertech pistons with the following cr's 8.4,8.6,9.1. Ive read that supertech pistons are pretty good and have thick ringlands. Also the kit contains eagle rods which ive read on the ka-t forums are good for 600 whp.

Are there any particular injector you recommend (brand)? This is something i am totally unsure about. Would i need to switch to a new fuel rail or are good side feeds available in that size?

And yes, i know tune is most important. I just had 2 friend do a t28 setup and ended up with blown ka. There is a local shop around here than said they could dyno tune my greddy emanage ultimate.

This is my first build so im trying to research and ask a bunch of questions. So id like to do it right my first time. thanks

Sard makes good injectors. Deatsh Werks, a sponser hear sells rebuilt ones that have had the cores driller out and replaced with higher flowing internals. They are cheaper and work just as well as the rest. Also they would be flow tested, where as used injectors arnt.

For 400 hp the sidefeeds are fine. I think its around 500+ that the side feed systems usually give out.
