a few suspension questions. pretty sure im going 350

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

alright guys .. its about time i started posting for some info on my new 240.i picked up a 1993 auto coupe shell and im planning to do a 350small block swap.

my main questions are on suspension. i really dont want to mess with coilovers. and i wont do too much serious track use.. so im thinking of going with some high quality struts and springs. im just wondering what u guys think of this idea.. and also what spring rates/ struts u reccommend. i plan to build the suspension now.. while the engine is out. and also work on other things as well.

i will be moving the battery to the back. and running no AC. if that makes much difference in the weights. also i plan to run 17x7 front and 17x8 or 9 rear wheels. possibly sportmax 006's. with some fairly wide rear tires and some average front ones.

i dont want the car slammed. i want some good overall performance and handling. i wouldnt mind a small drop thoughthanks alot guys

Using a 350 engine in general will negatively affect your handling. It is heavier than the stock motor and will make the car "push" through turns. The LS1 is more expensive, but will allow you to retain your handling better.

Well lower the rear and try some KYB AGX's on the stock springs for height, then if its too high try to lower about 1 to 2 inchs with the use of springs.

I have a 2/2 drop with the KYB's on Tein Springs with a LS motor and she could still sit lower in the front.

Honestly, I don't think you'll notice much of a difference with what little extra weight you'll have up there, but I would definitely invest in a tuneable/adjustable suspension. That means buy coilovers. Don't mess with spring/shock combos. There are plenty of affordable coilover sets on the market (Stance, KTS, Megan) that are still quality and offer so much more adjustability.

I would also think some aftermarket swaybars might be a good idea.

You may want to ask this in the Suspension forum for a more in-depth answer.
