Hey guys, just got a few quick questions for you.

1. It seems that after my latest adjustment to my new fanbelts I can hear a lot more noise coming from the fan. Is this because of the adjustment or maybe because of the coupling in the fan being shot? My car still squeaks at 6-7000rpm, so I will have to adjust my fanbelts again anyway.

2. When I floor it the coolant temperature gauge takes a noticeable dive, from right in the middle of the gauge to halfway to the bottom or even lower. Any idea what would cause this?

Thanks

1) Your fan clutch is probably shot. With the car off, see if the fan spins freely. It should spin about 1/4 turn and stop. If not, it's shot, and should be replaced if it's roaring.

2) Your thermostat has failed open would be my first guess. Check the connection on the coolant sensor first though. it's the smaller black one next to the bigger yellow one on the water pipes at the front of the engine
