i wanted to also know if i need any type of boost controller. my t3 turbo is internally wastegated to 8 psi. so if i want to leave it at that level do i need to install a boost controller or will the internal wastegate just keep it at that level. thats the max amount i want to run for now.
i am buying a first gen. apexi s-afc (5 nob one) and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them. i know they are just the basic function fuel controllers but are they good enouf to control a hacked maf and 440cc injectors. does anyone have a wiring diagram for this controller or a refrence on how to install it on an 89 ka24e.
I've had an ACT street clutch for about a year and a half now and couldn't be happier with it...very very good every-day clutch, and can hold plenty of power. Not extreme at all for just around the town driving, although it will take some getting used to compared to your OEM clutch, but that could be just because your OEM clutch is worn and this one isn't. It makes the car feel a lot sportier than with the OEM clutch. My ACT street clutch catches RIGHT off the floor, that is, there's not much travel, but this is a good thing, and it's not grabby at all. It's completely different from a lot of OEM clutches out there (especially Audi). Anyway, I recommend it, and I know a lot of others do too. I should also mention that when I upgraded my OEM clutch to the ACT street clutch, I also upgraded my flywheel to the 11 pound Fidanza unit. The car felt a lot more responsive after this and revved quite a bit more freely, especially when I added the ASP crank pulley.
If your T3 is internally wastegated at 8 psi and you're not planning on going higher than 8 psi, you do not need any boost controller. If it turns out the internal wastegate is only giving you 6 or 7 psi at the intake manifold (or wherever you get your boost reading), really nice ceramic ball and spring type manual boost controllers can be had for about $45. Joe P MBC comes to mind.
