i am going to order a ACT clutch soon and i was wondering how the street/strip disk is and wanted to know everyone's opinion on this clutch.

i wanted to also know if i need any type of boost controller. my t3 turbo is internally wastegated to 8 psi. so if i want to leave it at that level do i need to install a boost controller or will the internal wastegate just keep it at that level. thats the max amount i want to run for now.

i am buying a first gen. apexi s-afc (5 nob one) and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them. i know they are just the basic function fuel controllers but are they good enouf to control a hacked maf and 440cc injectors. does anyone have a wiring diagram for this controller or a refrence on how to install it on an 89 ka24e.

I've had an ACT street clutch for about a year and a half now and couldn't be happier with it...very very good every-day clutch, and can hold plenty of power. Not extreme at all for just around the town driving, although it will take some getting used to compared to your OEM clutch, but that could be just because your OEM clutch is worn and this one isn't. It makes the car feel a lot sportier than with the OEM clutch. My ACT street clutch catches RIGHT off the floor, that is, there's not much travel, but this is a good thing, and it's not grabby at all. It's completely different from a lot of OEM clutches out there (especially Audi). Anyway, I recommend it, and I know a lot of others do too. I should also mention that when I upgraded my OEM clutch to the ACT street clutch, I also upgraded my flywheel to the 11 pound Fidanza unit. The car felt a lot more responsive after this and revved quite a bit more freely, especially when I added the ASP crank pulley.

If your T3 is internally wastegated at 8 psi and you're not planning on going higher than 8 psi, you do not need any boost controller. If it turns out the internal wastegate is only giving you 6 or 7 psi at the intake manifold (or wherever you get your boost reading), really nice ceramic ball and spring type manual boost controllers can be had for about $45. Joe P MBC comes to mind.

i would definitly ditch the idea of the 1st gen safc. it may get the job done but not very well. you can find the 1st gen LCD safcs pretty cheap around and can tune much much with it

the kit comes with everything you need to do a clutch job. IIRC, the ACT street clutch is rated up to 267 lb foot of torque but I've heard plenty of people with a lot more power than that using it w/o problems.

I got mine from http://www.enjukuracing.com

i found a ACT clutch kit at heavy throttle for $339 + shipping but the one i am looking says it will fit 89-98 meaning all the 240sx but i thought the E and DE had different flywheels? is this true? or will this just work.

the problem i see with the old safc is:

1. only 5 tunning points, thats if every knob is for a tunning point2. cant set low and high throttle points this can have an effect on gas milage3. with the newer versions you can run larger mafs, z32 for example4. i believe that the 5knob can only correct up to 30% or so the newer version go up to 50%5. its an old unit, many more people have the newer ones this is good for trouble shooting.those are jsut off the top of my head
