Okay... I have a 94 J30 and I know that it has the same engine as the 300zx but what about the suspension? Will Nissan shocks fit? I'm starting to get a bumpy ride over bumps in the road and I think the front end is going. Wouldn't hurt to replace the back while I'm at it.

Also... If I gun it, it seems like it doesn't want to shift gears. I have to lay off the pedal and hit it again. You can feel it jerk and grab. Does this mean it's starting to go? I put some Lucas Oil transmission stuff in it but it hasn't improved. I also would like to drop it an inch or two to grab the corners a bit better.

I asked around and emailed a bunch of shops to see if there were and body kits that would fit as well but no one replied back. Can you modify Nissan kits to fit? I love my J but it just seems like there isn't too much for her. I want a better ride and handling can anyone throw me a bone as to what I can do?

Thanks in advance...

Welcome to NICO!!!

The J30 suspension components aren't shared with any other Nissan. Your options are custom fabrication or Nissan OEM. Both are $$$.

Untill the transmission is fully warmed up, your shifts will be jerky. Does the jerkiness go away after awhile? Having said that I have noticed a pattern over the years. Transmissions in J30's that primarily reside in warmer climates tend to go faster. This from both the external and internal heat caused by a transmission that is pulling a 3800lb car.

There are no body kits for the J. One J owner did use pieces from a Maxima kit which he custom fabricated to fit in the past.

well driver pretty much covered it all...as far as the suspension is concerned i am working with a certain member who has already created a one off coilover kit for his J...if youre interested shoot me an email...as far as the transmission goes i reccomend an external oil cooler since ur in a warmer climate...i will be running one as well as soon as i finish my motor and transmission swap and i wish i had bought one when i first got the J....theres a lot that can be done it all depends on the amount of money youre willing to spend and amount of wrench time your williing to put in...
