A few questions?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

First question? I have had my sentra since 04. I bought it brand new now I am having problems with the transmission I think. It is hard to shift in reverse and if I am running it "racing" I go to shift in 2nd gear and for like 30 sec. it will just red line but not move what could cause these problems?

2nd question? what is the Vq30det motor from I have seen it a couple times on the net in a red Sentra I was wondering if that is a good motor? If not what would be a good motor to swap for?

Thank you for your time and help

1) A fairly large number of Spec transmissions had issues, get in touch with a dealer and see if your VIN brings up any TSB's or recalls.

2) There is no VQ30DET. I think you mean VQ35DE. It's an award-winning engine, but a VERY expensive and intensive swap. Do some searches, it's a topic that's been asked about quite a few times.

Hmm. That's the first time I've seen the VQ30DET swap. I didn't even realized there was a 3.0 VQ.

Anyway, the same guy does the VQ35 swap for B15s. Get in touch with him for any VQ-series swap you have an interest in.
