I just bought a 1997 Nissan 240sx that has the following:

-Tanabe 5 way adjustable coilovers-Z32 calipers up front with slotted rotors in the front and rear-Stock rims

Just a few questions:

How easy is it to raise the coilovers? It's a little lower than to my liking. I've never worked with full coilover sets before. I also didn't receive the keys to adjust these, would any other coilover keys work the same?

Would 18 in rims with 225/40 size tires work well with these cars? I know alot of people like to get larger tires, but I want something that would be more efficient. I think the rims are 18x7.5 with a +45 offset.

Would it be better to put in some spacers along with the rims?

The stock exhaust on the car was cut after the resonator. The seller did throw in a brand new Megan Racing long tip 3" catback exhaust but I'm still debating if I want to keep that or look for a smaller piping exhaust (2.5"). What would work best as I tend to keep it stock with the KA motor. I don't want it to be too loud.

Any answers would be great! Thanks.

My s14 has 17x8 front and 17x9 rear. I think you could fit 18"s, but I don't think it needs them. Anything larger and you need to roll the fenders. Hell 18's might even require that.

I also have a Megan cat back 3" on my ka (bought it that way) with a test pipe in place of the cat. It's loud to the point of rice. Doesn't "buzz" the way other crappy exhausts do, but still. Trust me, its LOUD. I'd swap it but I'd rather spend the money on the turbo stuff first. Then I'll probably take a look at the BRM options I have.

Thanks for the response. The only problem with the 18's that I have is that I think it has a +45 offset, atleast that is what Motegi's website says for the DP6. It's currently on a '98 Eclise GS-T. I've been reading the offset threads and alot of people think we should be getting lower offsets such as +15 to +35 or so.

The car currently has Tanabe Sustec Pro 5 coilovers, which is adjusted pretty low right now (probably a little less than an inch from tire to fender) with stock rims. I would prefer raising it up to about maybe 2 inch gap between tire and fender with 18's.

I don't have huge plans for the car. I basically just want to keep it stock. I would prefer just getting a stock exhaust if I can find one. Otherwise I want to get a 2.25-2.50 inch piping instead of this huge 3 inch Megan exhaust.
