First of all...RE: 1990 Q45 infinitiDo your US infinitis have a switch in the centre console at the front... kinda looks like a set of curtains on the switch with one way for "open"the other for "close"?I have this switch here, and it appears to do nothing!!! Can anyone enlighten me on its function?

Can anyone supply me with a scan of the fuse box label? My car is from Japan, (all writing is in japanese) and even though it has been translated, I am not happy, as many words/functions are repeated, and i was hoping to get an english version to read/compare with.

And, does anyone have pictures they can post here of their infiniti's with bigger rims? Any one know what offset is best? What is the max diameter of rim i can use? I currently have 16's ( I was looking at getting either 19's or 20's for it)

I know it's a lot, but these are the burning issues for me at the moment, and i am sure I will have many more questions to come in the future...

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome Ozzie! Try reading some of the prevoius posts. Although most of them apply to the US version, the overall car is the same.

No help for the curtains button as we don't have one, nor a gear indicator in the intrument panel.

Besides greatly degrading your performance, it is next to imposible to find tires of sufficient load carrying capacity in 19" or 20". 18" is the feasible maximum only if you want to spend over $1K US for tires.

Thank you muchly.... off to look for 18's then i guess... cheaper tyres too.tyres for 18's here will cost around $800 to $1,000 AU, and wheel and tyre packages for around $1,600 to $2,000... I saw a thread with some impul full face wheels, advertised on ebay, but gone already. These are the type of wheels I am looking for. Will go well with the impul kit and other acessories I have.(I didnt realise you guys dont have a gear indicator in the dash either, but thanks for pointing it out. Any differences that can be made clear to me between the Jap spec and US spec would also be appreciated.)

Thanks for the help.

Can anyone help with the fuse box label?

You can get 18's with adequate load rating for like 550 US dollars, 19's with adequate load are around a grand.

Depending how agressive you want to get, you can go with offsets between +25 – +35. The lower number will stick out a bit, the +35 will be slightly tucked in. My next set of wheels which are not too far away now, will be "agressive" offsets.

+ 25 on a G50 is gonna be problematic.

Remember, big difference between the Y33 and G50 fitments.

My 18x8 +40 with 255/40/18 fit well, and are less than 10mm from the fender lip.

I did not realize the big differences in wheel fittment between the two models, thanks Greg.

I'm going to be running 245's on 10" wide rears, 235's on 9" fronts

my rear wheels are 18x8.5 and 33mm offset and they rub with 265 40...

Just letting you know.... Id stick with either 18s or 19s, 8-8.5 wide wheels with 35ish offset.

We G50 Q45s (in the US) didn't get:

Rear air filter/ACpower rear curtainsFolding power outside mirrorsTray seatbacks/fold-flat front passenger seat (maybe President only)TV in the center console (also maybe President only)Fog lamps3-piece spoiler6 short-spoke wheels (or 5 short spokes IIRC, early JDM)Center console AC vents

Some other crap I can't think of right now.

Wes, your rub is probably more due to the 265's being too wide for an 8.5" wheel. With 245's I bet you wouldn't rub.

Here's Wes' ride on the 350Z track wheels. zerothread?id=130115

I copied him , but didn't go with the 265's on the rear.

Wheels are 18x8 w/30 offset in front, 18x8.5 w/33 offset in rear.

Ideally, 225/45's up front and 245/45's in the rear. It's just a little tough to find 225/45 tires (Nittos) that meet the Q's minimum load rating (95) ... that aren't snow tires . There's a 235/45 Continental Conti SportContact 2 with a 98 load rating.

Fog lamps on all 1994-1996 G50.

Three piece rear spoiler is not OEM.

Should be better with 245 on front and 255 on rear, 40 aspect ratio, or 255 all around.

Nah, you know I do how I like! I'm going to be showing this car before too much longer, just a few more things to do to it. I want it to portray the true Japanese styling for these cars, but I will always keep it safe and never take short cuts or make modifications that take away from the cars natural abilities.

Ahh, another Q45 in Aus.

This switch??

I've got curtain rails on the back window on the bottom but the top rail has been removed, so the switch doesnt do anything now.

Here's the translated fuses..

Check out my signature for a hot link to my Member's Ride section. i have 18 x 8 ASA Revolutions with 245/45/18 Contilental ContiSports on Lola, and 18 x 7 Konig Divas with 255/45/17 Fuzion ZR (I hate the directional tread due to road noise) on Layla.

I would love some 19 x 10's for the rear of Lola, with some 295/40/19's like on my 2000 Corvette, but you really don't need that kind of tire.

She barely spins the 245's. Now, that Vette will roast those 295's!

Cheers for the pics of wheels on the infiniti... and also thanks for the fuse box translation... will see how it compares to the translation I got in the morning (it's late here now =) ), and yes, that is the switch i mean, but its in the lower location of the other switch in your pic, and the higher one ( your curtain switch ) doesn't exist in my car ( note to self... post a pic of this later)
