First question is: How do you remove the stock shift knobI have tried to twist it off but I see that thats not the way.I opened the console and see some type of clamps. do I need to just take these off?

The second one is I have a 1991 fband I am about to replace the engine with an engine from a 95 240sx.Is there anything special that I need to get to make the swap work right?I plan to drop in an SR engine later but for now Im stuck with the KA24DE.Thanks

With the shifter, its on there really tight and it takes alot, ALOT to get it off.

Im not sure with the S14 KA24DE swap, but i know its not plug and play. There are minor differences, hopefully someone else can further explain.

Oh so you do actualy have to turn it in order to get it off?

I know that the stock shifters are on there pretty tight. I had to use channel locks on one of my cars to get it off. Seems like they use some type of a thread lock on it. Also remember left/counter-clockwise is to take it off.

just use your force to turn it.

itll seem like its gonna break .. but itll be fine .. you need a lot of force jsut like j-spec said

yup, the shifter WILL come off if you twist it hard enough. lefty-loosey of course. :)

if you swap a 95 DE into a 91, you'll need an upper intake manifold from a 91-93 DE motor and the matching ECU and harness. and that should be it. someone correct me if im wrong. :)

I made a complete write up on the swap you're planning on doing when I did it last month. Search for it. Its called "SWAP! Ka24e to ka24de" Its got everything and anything there as well as some troubleshooting.

Oh Sorry guys I have made a typo in my post.I was meaning to say that I have a Ka24DE from a 1994 240sxAnd I just wanted to know if I needed anything special to do the swap correctly, I have a 91 f/b with the twin cam in it.Sorry for the trouble.and thanks for your help.
