I have a 1991 and a 1993 TCU, but I don't know which one is which... I will be using the 1993 one in Lola when I replace the transmission.
I have a 1991 transmission that i am rebuilding for the car. The transmission shop says the ISUZU cab over trucks use a similar transmission and the valve bodies will work on the Q and be much more stout. He is building his own shift kit for me for it.
There is a company called Level10 that wil build you a stout racing transmission for the car. Do a Google search for them.
The best improvement will be from a high stall converter. There is a guy on this board that has some, maybe. There is also a company, called Precision Technologies that makes billet torque converters for the Q. This will make the single most improvement in the off-the-line performance in my opinion.
The last thing that I am doing to Lola, is to swap in the 4.11:1 rear differential from a Skyline GTR. The stock gears are 3.56:1, so this should help the low RPM acceleration as well. This rear end has a mechanical limited slip, rather than the viscous limited slip that the stock Q has. IT is much more reliable and can handle more HP. The viscould fluid tended to get hot and caused failure. There are a lot of Q's out there with open rear ends because of this failure.
