How often do power steering pumps fail?

By "service" the a/c, what do you mean? If the system is tight, the refrigerant loss will be minimal... so maybe every 3-5 years? Q45Tech (and a few others) have the equipment handy to vacuum it down and replace the compressor oil every year or two - but I honestly don't do it...

P/S pumps are relatively bulletproof unless abused. I do a partial fluid replacement at each oil change with a turkey baster.

To tell you the truth, I've never done service to my A/C, as far as I know, and my A/C works great. I guess it would be best to do regular service so do as I say and not as I do. Do service.
