Well I got an RB for a good deal so my buddy picked it up for me and I took some pics.

It has an obx short throw shifter installed, but for some reason only gets 1st and 2nd gear. I didn't get to check if it has fluid yet, but for the life of me could NOT get it to shift into anything but 1st and 2nd...that really worries me.

I has a bent accessory pulley and dented oil pan (not bad), but I'm gonna take the pan off and the valve covers and check it all out. So far it looks good and it seems the person who had it before me was on the right track, as the wiring harness has certain wires cut already and others spliced off..etc.

check them out, let me know what you think.

Well, I thinkt he ones that are cut are the right ones...like the two rectangular plugs have 8" leads off them, which I read was right. The the lower harness is cut, but I can use my ka harness so I think I should be set.

heres a wiring writeup, i dont know if it works but

This how-to is for 89-90 240SXs that came equipped with SOHC engines. Wiring up a 91-94 DOHC engine should be very similar, but not quite the same. This how-to also assumes that you already have the engine and transmission installed. If you are performing this swap, make sure you have the engine and transmission installed properly.

1) Run the ECU harness into the passenger side of the car, extending the mass air flow sensor, and O2 sensor wires.

2) Locate 2 plugs on the RB20 motor harness. Both being rectangle and one having 6 wires, and the other having 8 wires.

3) After locating these, find the female end of each of these plugs and cut them back about 6-8 inches.

4) Locate 2 oval plugs on the KA chassis harness, one being grey, and the other being brown.

5) After finding these, cut the Black/red wire, and connect it to the Black/red wire on the RB plug that was just cut.

6) On that same plug, cut the Red wire and splice it to the white/black wire on the same RB plug.

7) Going towards the fuse box, there will be a white wire that goes into the box. Cut and strip both ends of it.

8) Splice the white/purple wire from the RB plug into the white wire.

9) Off of the ECU there is a Black/pink wire for the fuel pump, run a wire from the ECU into the engine bay to the black/pink wire from the fuse box.

10) Now there will be a plug with 2 wires in it on the KA chassis harness, one being white and the other being black/yellow. Find the black/white wire on the other RB plug and connect the two.

11) Coming out of the fuse box there will be a plug that contains a small white/red wire. Take that and connect it to the white red wire coming from the RB motor harness by the alternator.

12) Take the thick white/blue wire and run a wire from there to the positive battery terminal; that will charge the battery from the alternator. The way I did mine was I took the RB battery harness and connected it to the battery as well as the KA battery harness, that way it powers the KA harness and the RB harness, same goes for the negative battery cable.

13) Make sure to use the ground for the starter from the KA lower harness

THIS IS NOT MY WRITE UP, ITS NISMO241

Ironic, but I found the original topic you posted that in and copied and pasted it into a text doc last night and saved it..very helpful!

Here's a couple pics of the harness:

I was freaked out at all the cut wires until I read the post about having the leads off the 2 rectangular plugs..hehe.

isn't that the motor you bought for $850? doesn't look too bad.

$900 for engine/trans/ecu/hks bov/crossmember/harness/obx short shifter...then I threw in another $80 for a walbro 255 pump.

Couldn't pass up the deal, and I think it'll be a fun project.

You might have been thinking of mine. I got mine for 850, and it is in great condition (can see it at http://www.showcarssuck.com). Good luck with the swap bud! I had been talking to Hybrid on the phone about my starter that is coming in, which is why it says starter instead of alt on that one pic. He knows, but he just hasn't had time to fix it yet.

to revive an old thread, those plugs that you took a close up pic of are where a good amount of the wiring is done at. The write up works just fine, just a little hard for some people to find some of the wires as pics would help. I've used my write up for 4 cars total now each one firing up the first time, if you run into any problems with it contact me on AIM @ NISMObuttnutz Or Email me at [email protected]

Awesome, I appreciate the help. Does your wiring write-up work the same for S14's or are there a few changes?

Thanks,Nick
