Nice work.

Where are you mounting the alternator or is there enough clearance for it in the oem location with shielding?

Also, what about A/C Compressor & P/S Pump? ( Are you going to use them, & if so, how?)

The altinator will be located beside the crank pully on thew right banks side, you can see the gap where it will go. It will be shieled.

I am not useing a/c as this will only be a weekend worrior and occasional daily driver.

I will not be useing the stock power steering pump. Instead I will be useing an MR2 electric power steering pump that will be mounted in the trunk/hatch and will utilize stock 240 super hycas lines to get the fluid to the rack.

Gorgeous! And you can still use your strut bar.Can you post more pics of the runners/plenum?

Any idea how much lower your intake manifold is than the stock spider?

I tested the fitment of the short intake runners in the exact configuration you have them for my project. While it would allow the exact plenum setup that you have fabricated, I really did not like the injector placement. The injectors end up firing at a near 90* angle from the intake ports, whereas in the stock configuration they fire directly down the throat of the intake port at the back of the valves. No doubt your setup will work, but I dont exactly like the sacrifice in spray pattern.

Anyway, great work on your project and I look forward to seeing it when it's done.

You can use the same runners and have the injectors on the inside but then your surge tanks will be on the out side and unless hood clearence is not an issue then you would not want to do that. I maybe sacrificeing torque and spray patern with this setup but I am not going for max power. This car is going to be a drift car. Aslong as the fans think its cool and it has enough power to smoke the liveing *it out of my tires then I am cool with the sacrifices.

Also I will not have to modifie my hood at for this set up and I can keep my strut bar.

The clutch master cylender that you see in the spot for the brake booter is actually what is going to be operating my remote brake system, I have a braket built that holds a slave cylender over the rod for the brake booster and it is operated by the clutch master which is now attached to the brake bedal. I have not tested the system yet but I am sure it will work, I will more then likely need to put an adjustable proportioning valve between the slave and the master but we will see. I will be useing Viper brakes on the front of this car.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I got my custom made drive shaft. I ordered it from The Drive Shaft Shop.. real nice guy and they were very fast with building and shiping it, I had it in less then a week after ordering it. And it fit perfectly. It cost me $534 CAD shipped. I will post pics later.

Thanks for the coments guys I am glad you like it. More to come soon.

Thanks Chris

Oh I'm not denying that it'll work, and it looks awesome! I just thought it would be fair to point out the drawbacks as well. Good luck with everything!

Top work man, I'd be interested in learning more about your remote brake system, because I'm presently not getting enough brake pressure myself, and want to run some kind of remote system like you've described... reckon you could please pop me an e-mail with a rundown of the hydraulic circuit ? :D

If you just want to switch to a racing style master cyl with remote mount resevoir you may want to check out racer wholesale and pegasus auto they both carry them in stock, thats likely going to be my choice.Twin MC's w/balance bar for the win.

Touch up work is not done but here is the pics with the TB's. I will do all the touch ups and polishing when the chassis goes to paint and the engine is out. Right now I am trying to get all the fabricateing done.

Here is a pic of the 2 of the ports.

i might be going with a Vg30DETT swap.i love the way a V-form looks in the bay of a 240.

It has been a while since the last update so I fugured i should post some pics and get you guys up to speed.

Things have been going slow and it does not look like alot has changed but that is because most of the work I have done recently is all the small stuff mainly to do with the intakes (IAC, PVC, Coolant lines etc...). All that stuff has been more difficult then I ever imagined it would be. I am trying to keep a clean cimetrical look and i makes things difficult....I don't want to just throw a bunch of hoses all over the place.

I have welded the stock IAC (cut off of the Q intake) to the back of the right bank intake runner and have used a Y hose to go to each runner and I have used 2 bolt on bungs taken from PS pumps the feed into the runners.

Then I took the PVC "T" found behind the coolant filler on a stock VH and welded it to the back of the thermistat houseing under the intakes.

I also moved a coolant temp sensor from the top of the coolant "Y" in the valley to the back side (this will be the one I use for the ECU and the one at the front will be removed). Does anyone know why there are 2of the same sensors? Is there only 2 on the TCS models?

I have also removed the coolant filler and rad cap then welded the hole shut and clocked it to come out under the throttle body.

Now I am going to finish the IC pipeing and start on the clean up. I still need to get 2 waste gates, 2 BOV's (HKS SSQV's) the rad and a clutch. Then I need to get the body blasted and painted.I could have the car done by the end of the month if I had all the funds but my budget is gone so it will take some more time unless I find a sposor to help out.......anyone know of any sponsors?...lol

Ok I will shut up now and post the pic's

Ok so here is the latest on Bastard Child. I have almost finished all the IC pipeing, I just need to add the BOV's and weld up all the seams I am also waiting on a couple more couplers. The intakes are neer there final state and the top end of the engine will be buttoned up soon. I will be doing alot of work to the chassis and exhaust this week as I am on a 1 week lay-off. I had all intention of finishing this car by the end of the month but I am not sure if it will happen ..still alot to do. I still need the rad waste gates and a clutch.

Well here are some new pics.

I hav 2 of these and they will be placed just before the throttle body fornt viewside

All the pipe is aluminized exhaust pipe and I know I am adding more wieght then I want to but this is all I can aford right now and I can always copy them out of aluminum later once the car has proven itself. The BOV's are the 2007 model HKS SSQV. I guess tats all for now. I should get lots of work done this week so I will add more pics soon

Thanks Chris

Awesome work mate, I am thoroughly impressed. It's great that in the Nissan V8 community, most of us try and do as much as we can ourselves! Your car's going to be brutal!
