I just got back from the shop. I got the VH on my home made start stand the other day and today I swithched all the connectors that were different from the pre 94 harness and then I started the engine!!! It ran my wireing was good.

This is very exciting for me. I thought i was haveiong a heart attack my heart was pounding so hard.

I only ran it for a very short period of time because I did not have a rad hooked up.

I should have a short video posted within the hour.

Hey canadiandrifter240sx, what did you do about the engine mounts and x-member? Just curious. I'm prepping my s13 now and getting ready to start pulling from my Q45 donor car.

Hahah good **** mate, I remember when we floor started my VH... my motor was just sitting on its sump on a sub box, with axle stands supporting the exhaust manifolds to keep it balanced... sounded just like that actually, was a very happy moment to hear it fire up into life & rev up :D!

And yeah, plenty of backfires for me too, seeing as we'd duct taped the AFM on :p

Update

My turbo's arived last week so I have put the engine back in the car so I can build the turbo manifolds. This is going to be one of the more difficult parts of the build. Even though I am a pipe fitter and welder by trade it has proven to be dificult thus far. I have a pic of the left bank manifold but it is just an idea of what I might do, after the pic it came apart again.

Oh yes the turbo's are GT3076's

Ok here is the pic.

The turbo is in the location were it will be mounted, it still needs to be clocked but it will sit as it is in the pic. Same goes for the other side.

The problem I am haveing with the manifold is aranging the pipes in a way to meet up with the collector. I only spent a few hours on it and i was limited by the materials I had. I will havew a go at it again on the week end.

Good choice on the turbos. That's what I'm planning on going with as well. What exhaust housing did you go with?

I can't seem to get the pic to work. The exhaust houseings are internal gate but I plan on useing external gates, the a/r is 63

hey man it just occurred to me that you aren't using the stock exhaust headers... I desperately need a set of stock ones to cut and reweld for my S13... since I'm going supercharged I dont need turbo headers. my motor came with no exhaust manifolds, so if you still have your stockers and you are willing to part with them let me know. Its going to be real rough if I have try and get a set off a dead car in the junkyard... as I'm sure you all know they are real real hard to get to with the motor in the car.

slownslurious, would it be a help to you if I supplied you with drawing files of the flanges, so that you can modify to suit, for laser cutting ? I believe the VH41 & VH45 exhaust ports to be the same, just with different bolt hole locations.

I think I am gonna try to get some off a junkyard car... they just got two new Q's in my favorite junkyard so I think I'm going to offer to help them remove the motors (they pull the motors anyway) and get the exhaust headers and the wiring harness off of one.

It has been a while since i updated this thread last. I was realy busy over the holidays so not much has been done.

I have the left bank turbo manifold almost finished. This is a bad pic but you will get the idea. I will post more soon.

Hey not bad man, looks like there's plenty of volume in there too with a venturi style taper down to the flange! I assume this manifold is pointing forwards ?

Seems a little close to the CAS unit, are you planning some sort of thermal insulation?

It is not really as close as it seems in that pic but it is close and the down pipe will be runing right in front of it aswell. There will be a bunch of aluminum shielding in this engine bay. There may even be some gold since it is the world best heat reflector.
