I just started my redtop SR for the first time ever :D im so happy about that but now im questioning if i have everything hooked up right. here is a few of the things im questioning some of them are real noob so don't flame to hard lol

1. i think that most of the problems might be linked. The car idles fine no surge or anything. But as soon as i put a little pressure on the gas pedal it wants to die. But if i let go of the gas pedal it goes back to idle. Then i step on the pedal real aggressive to about half throttle the engine spools fine when it gets to the RPM it goes back to idle while the pedal is still at half. then it starts being erratic after that all while still at half throttle. I do it at full throttle too and it does the same thing.

2. My boost gauge is reading a vacuum at all times. When i step on the gas and get good rpms the boost gauge goes to zero? Maybe i just have the vacuum hooked up wrong or something

3. My brake lights are always on. My head lights dont flip up now either. Would any wiring from the engine affect this?

hmm thats all i can think off right now thank you for any help

Have you checked the TPS and make sure its set correct? Your MAFS can also be a culprit! After checking that run your ecu codes and go from there.

ps-if you need a tps I have a brand new one if need be.edt- welcome to NICO btw.

hmm how do you make sure the TPD is set correct? or how do you make corrections. I dont have any ecu codes at all at there moment. Could the vacuum lines not being hooked up right cause any of this?

I say replace your MAF, and PLEASE!!! search in the future, some of your questions are frequently asked. Get yourself a Factory Service Manual as well to check the wiring on the brake lights and head lights

Sounds like your vacum lines might be leaky or wrong. Could also be the MAF.http://www.heavythrottle.com has a writeup on how to hook your vacum lines up properly and theres also a writeup somewhere on this site about how to hook them up properly if your using all the stock parts. I think Speedracer posted it so check his posts if you wanna try and find it. He's probably one of the most useful posters because he has a whole ton of hard to find info on stock/moded SRs.

ok i will search more. i have searched but some of it wasnt the same at all so i was just askin specific things but i do understand your point of view. About the lights i was asking, if the SR harness was screwed up would it cause those lights and stuff not to work. i figured that it was a chassis thing not a engine harness but i know that the SR harness connects to the chassis up by the battery. and that i had to swap a couple of connectors and stuff again. Thank you every one for all of the help i will check everything tomorrow after work.
