Aw yeah...

Some of you may notice that the AMS fabricators some how managed to fit a 4" inlet 2.5" outlet Ported S-cover GT35-R in that spot. You will only have to twist the PS outlet banjo a little bit and move the PS resevoir in order to make that large cover work. For the smaller covers, smaller turbos, less to no modification will be necessary. This car still has AC, Power steering and decent BMC clearance. More info will be posted as it becomes available.

why bottom mount? I know the phat ka-t kit was also bottom mount manifold. Is there an advantage to this?

Sweet beans!

So I'm guessing that the AMS kit will definately be bottom mount? I just started rebuilding my KA for boost, so I will keep this kit in mind.

Is there going to be any heat protection for the master cylinder? That reservoir will take on a whole new shape once that thing heats up How do you plan on running that hot pipe--looks like the PWR Steering reservoir is in the way.

-Lower Center of gravity -The top mount manifold is "done" -Easier/better down pipe -Flow to turbo is in the correct scroll position (very good reason) -I like the look of the runner better myself... we may be able to sneak a nice AMS logo on there too which will really set it off.

The BMC will be accounted for, there will be a nice heat shield or some heat retention material on the manifold, or both.

The PS resevoir will have to be relocated for the larger ported shroud turbos.

Lookin good man....I used to hate the bottom mount, but the DP is a PITA when you have a top mount, atleast mine was. But I fabbed it myself and I'm admittedly not the best welder. So...your's looks really good. I particularly like the collector, thats the part I had the hardest time with.

Here is a quick pic from today. We have the wastegate mounted, and for the final version the runners 2 and 3 will be swapped making it very close to equal length runners. All we have left to do is make the downpipe. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

Couple questions...

1. Will this work with a T3/T04E with the standard .60 A/R compressor, without relocating stuff?

2. Is it setup for a Tial wastegate?

3. What will be the cost on this manifold?

Thanks!

The only thing at this point that may need relocation would be the PS res. We have hung everything from our GT32 E cover to our GT37 S cover turbo and they all fit. If your not running AC, the discharge can be pointed down for a cleaner install. Tial WG flange is standard. Price is to be determined.
