I just wanted to post up some pics of my current engine bay setup.

Fujita intake, Stillen STB, Racingline STS (not seen), Sentient's grounding kit, and my latest addition....

LED strips for the engine bay My main purpose for doing this was just so I could have more light at night or in the garage when I wasn't working anything electrical. Also, it doesn't look bad either just ordered 2 9inch strips and a rocker switch from Oznium, hooked them up, and tada!

I am pretty amazed. That is something that you would think would be pointless on a car. However I must say very smart! I love it

Looks real nice. How much difference did you notice with the STB?

Looks good man.

I was thinking about doing this but with two extra blue strips I had, they weren't very functional though, just aesthetically pleasing, so I found different uses.

How do you like the Fujita

Mike...can you read this outloud and answer your own question? PLEASE? I don't think anyone here wants to flame a member for asking a question...but...white/clear lights...forward?

VIPER, AWESOME look! I was just realizing this weekend that the engine bay didn't have a light and how I didn't like that at all! Looks great! And very functional!

sorry guys, I slept in today....... thanks for the compliments

To all the guys asking about what it looks like when the hood is closed; unfortunately, if the hood is closed, you can barely tell the lights are on. because of the way the lights are angled and mostly because of the rubber strip the runs along the top of the hood. you can only see a little light shining through by the headlights.

So, basically you cant see these lights through the hood or grill based on where they are mounted, but the the cool thing is that if I wanted that look, it would be pretty easy to get another set, mount them by the radiator, and have a look like Rob did; thats what I like about these LED strips, you can put them anywhere you want......

Oh, yeah. Where I have the switch is just a temp location. I just wedged it between the fuse box. My plan is to use my Dremel and cut a hole for the switch on top of the fuse box, so it can be nice and flush. I will certainly post pics when I get get that done.

@Viper, there was a small noticeable difference with the STB, but I would say there was a much more noticeable handling difference when I installed the RSB and endlinks.

@Rob, the Fujita is awesome! It roars My first mod, and probably the most satisfying

I was wondering how far up the hood you have them? I couldn't tell, but it looks like with the new Intake you took out the old plastic air flow pieces, if the LEDs were down on the hood far enough that they would fit where that old plastic piece was, it seems to me like it would shine off the engine and light out the grille (if you can see through the radiator.)

This mod really really interests me.

I will take some pics when I get home today in the daylight to show the placement of the strips... there is a perfect place on the inside where it levels off....

DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN! THAT IS AWESOME LOOKING! I love how well you installed the switch, way to take your time, it was well worth it!

Did you pop off that sound barrior to run the wires or could you just feed it through?

I was messing under the hood today and can it a look to guess where you would have put them and I realized what you meant by the "perfect angle" and I also realized there is no way at all you would be able to see them through the radiator. I took my shop light in front of the grille and maybe 5% gets through...you would need 200 LED strips to see something out the front of the car.

I am almost thinking of going down 2 more inches and making a rectangle in the padding to seat the LEDs a little more. To much of a pain though?

And last Q...the white wire over your fuze box. Is that for your sub or something?

Yeah, that wire coming off the positive side is for my amp....

What sound barrier are you referring to, the one on the side where the hood goes in? In that case, yeah, I just fed it through.

What do you mean about "in the padding" for your idea? that may be cool, but I wouldn't cut though the padding to do it.

Thanks for all the compliments

Yea...I was very unclear.

Both questions were in reference to the padding material that is on the hood of the car, on the underside. It would appear you have the wires fed underneith that padding, down to the hing. Did you take the padding off to do that? It looks like 4 clips on the top side would remove it. And yes, my idea was to cut a little 3 mm slit in that padding and mount the LEDs on the hood under it. I do not know how think that padding is though...but if it was more then 4-5 mm's, that would be to much and it would burry the LEDs to much.

Yeah Curtieson, I just undid the clips holding the padding down one side, that was no problem..... you should try your idea though, it may be cool just remember to clean the area you are going to stick them on.....

@dangeris, yes it is bright.... pics don't do it justice in terms of brightness

Sure, I just grounded the lights to one of the bolts that was holding the fender on the right side. Then I just used the fuse box for the power source..... I used one of the low amp fuses than just stuck the power wire in the hole then put the fuse back in the hole on top of the wire, making sure it had good contact, than used an inline fuse on the power wire just for safety.....
