I've got an 89 S13 with 219k, runs great but eats oil and gets some poor mileage. And i've got a '90 S13 that needs at the least a timingchain to a full rebuild to run well again. (it started making LOUD knocking noises after some parking lot drifting practice). The 90 has 178k. I want to go Turbo KA, but i have some questions.

What KA24DE motors will work easily in an 89 240sx? Altima engine? Frontier engine? S14? S13s with auto trans?Do i need to swap the KA24DE transmissions as well? I would hope they just line right up. It shouldnt change that much, should it?

I would think any KA24 engine can pretty much bolt in there, but since i have a stock SoHC, do i need to replace the entire harness as well as ECU, or can it be easier? What about powersteering, do i have to swap all that as well?

Do they sell KA24DE front clips? heheh that was partially a joke.

Or should i just get a red top clip, put it in my '90, sell the 90 on Ebay, and spend that $5-7K to go balls out on a KA24ET?

I know if i spent the next year and a half searching i could answer half of my questions, but hey, lets put a fresh thread with a lot of good info up.

the engine alone and a RWD transmission wont work? I honestly have no clue, never even been in an Altima bay. Actually we've never owned a FWD car since i was like 10.

nah...transverse mounted motor has different mounts. you can probably find a low miles KA block for 4-500...shouldnt be too bad.
