a few exhaust questions from a new guy

okay, so i know my car is crap and i need to replace the header because of the PreCat... i was wondering a few things. 1st has anyone just taking off the header and gut out the PreCat and put it back on, i like the stock look, since its just my daily.

2nd would be is the factory manifold gasket a metal type you can reuse? if not anyone have a part #?

and here is a crapy question for you... 3rd anyone buy one of thoes cheap E-bay manifolds, like the 69.99 $ ones, i was going to pick up a MeganRacing one, but it looks the damn same as the 60 $ ones... so if i am going to buy cheap megan i might as well really cheap out?

Havent gutted a header, couldnt help ya there. But the aftermarket headers dont look bad. I have a Nismo w/out cat header, but there are other good ones like Hotshot and OBX you could get.

When I changed the header, I changed the gasket. I dont have a part number handy, but its like $8 at auto zone.

Hey Sechsterlo, did your check engine light come on after running that Nismo header w/o the cat?

I am also curious about the EBAY exhaust headers that are like 70 or 100 $. Are they OK? I am not looking to keep a pristine SS appearance to a header I install.
