Hi guys

I am now travelling between Paris and Geneva and I have seen many very pretty compact cars. Ther Versa is not available here however Peugeot has a car that look very alike:

The Yaris is present here but not as popular as in Canada.

The renault Clio looks strangely as the Versa but seems proportionally smaller: http://eur.news1.yimg.com/eur....5.jpg

Another car that caught my attention: the Renault Mégane and the bigger Scenic (although I don't need all its space)

Mercedes and audis seem to be more popular here than in Canada... and I kinda like the Mercedes A210 http://www.activauto.fr/photo/...f.jpg which is very popular but out of my price range I am sure!

It would be nice if someone could do a short study of the differences between the peugeot 307 and the versa.

sweet dreams!

I drove either a Peugeot 307 or 207 2 years ago in Northern France. Overall it had a similar feel. I don't remember a lot of details, but it was fun to drive like the Versa. It had a turbodiesel that was a rocket from around 2000-4000 RPM, above or below that and it fell on it's face, so it was a little tricky to drive. Overall diesel engines are a lot more coarse and too abrupt in power delivery. A small Mercedes E180? I drove was like this as well.

I also drove a Renault Magane which is slightly larger than the Versa. The one I drove was much cheaper on the inside, not nearly as quiet and the 1.5L or 1.6L gasoline motor was pretty weak. It took some hard reving to get up to freeway speeds. the seat/pedal position wasn't very good. I was stuck in traffic in Belgium (similar to the I-80 corridor in Chicago) and it was a chore to drive.

My favorite thing about driving in France and Germany was that dirvers ALWAYS move to the right on a freeway. A friendly flash of the the high beams was all you needed to let them know you want to go faster and they would find a hole to the right and move over. Traffic moved soooooooo much smoother and safer this way. They just take driving more seriously than Americans. I think socialism just tends make them a little less selfish in general... but that just my observation.

As mentioned in other posts, the Renault Clio is the sister vehicle to the Versa.
