only bi xenon kits like this replace both..Rmuth25 wrote:I know this is a pretty dumb and basic question, but I will ask it anyway. When you get an HID kit does it replace both the high and the low beam. Or do you only have one lightbulb now. Thanks
Doesn't this happen anyway (hid ballast turning on and off) if you have HID lowbeam and regular high beams???? You flash your stock high beams and your HID low beams turn off and on.Absolute Zero wrote:No questions are dumb.
Some have replaced both the lowbeam and highbeams, but I would advise against it because if you flash your highbeams at someone, it is bad for the hid ballasts to turn on and then off rapidly. Hope this helps.
aka me. On m;y drive home from work at 1130pm, i doubt i see more then 3 to 5 cars on the road passing meCali 2 Balti G wrote:

Also - not all people live in or near cities - some folks use their high beams on a regular basis - so for these people the high beam HIDs may make sense.
My lowbeams don't turn off when I use my highbeams... I don't know if yours does or not (but why would they?). And I agree, if you live in a very rural area and don't flash people alot or meet oncoming traffic alot, then I say go for the hid highbeams. Under normal operating conditions, you do not need hid higbeams though. I have only the lowbeams as hids (I have done these in two cars) and it is definately bright enough in my opinion.Cali 2 Balti G wrote:
