Thanks Barry! Yes the photochop back in the day was cheezy. It's really hard to replicate gloss black. I think I may paint it in the future though.bschurr wrote:Looks good man! Way better than the cheesy photoshop pics from waaaaay back in the day. Well executed!
Cool shots with the top down in the snow - I love that look. You may need to get yourself a Jeep down there in GA soon!
Thanks Steve, I'll post them up on the weekend with the pic info. yeah I like to shoot without making enhancements unless it's for something special. So the pics could have been lighter for some but considering it was mostly under a tree and in the shade I left it as is. I'm shooting with a canon t1i. I'll have some pics from a recent meet with all the pic info you can check out.SteveTheTech wrote:Great shots I too really like the contrast, given your location and open roof inclination of your car it only makes it better.
Practice pays, and is really fun.
What are you shooting with?
damn links don't show shot data
Several months ago I got my first slr and have been playing every opportunity I get. I had to buy Google cloud space to store my vacation photos as they filled my old laptop.
Here's my most recent album.

RAW photos are great.

Interesting. Thanks for that tip! I figured the conversion to jpg with highest quality setting in picasa would be enough. All my conversions are with picasa. Yes, I'll post up some pics with info later today. I've been messing around with rolling, drive by shooting (slow shutter speed) and also high f stops to get both the subject and background in focus. Cool stuff.SteveTheTech wrote:cereal2k wrote:I'm shooting all raw. Cr2 format.FTW
Check out the software that came with your camera. I would recommend converting the cr2 to jpgs on your own as programs like Picasa do not do some photos justice.
I asked about the shot info because I finally learned what they mean and I am trying what shutter speed works with what aperture settings and how light effects everything. Geeky research.
Its just a cosmetic mod, no other purpose other than to remove the amount of red on the car with the top upaudtatious wrote:Interesting....Will it now protect your lid from the scratches and gouges others have been having?
BTW, what did you use on the grille (black out) and how is it holding up?
I am not 100% (still a noob to cr2s) and third party software integration. If you (like me) use Picasa to upload from your card and store you will notice if you hit ALT-ENTER and scroll to the original thumbnail you will see the difference and that (at least to me) it runs the cr2 files through old style JPEG compression. The resulting image tends to be very noisy if taken in dark light.cereal2k wrote:I figured the conversion to jpg with highest quality setting in picasa would be enough. Ok, I wonder if I can even find the canon software LOL.SteveTheTech wrote:I am not 100% (still a noob to cr2s) and third party software integration. Try a batch process of all the new imported files in the Canon Digital Photo Professional software converting to an actual high quality jpeg. The difference is usually worth the work typically.
Why not just shoot in raw, if you are post processing anyway. It gives you the ability to alter so many more of the aspects of the image. Remember the difference is that the RAW image is it is not compressed inside the camera and is the raw data from the sensor. You are not getting nearly the results you could be from your slr.audtatious wrote:Too much effort with Raw. I'm lazy so I use standard jpg for my SLR and use Photoshop to adjust.
I know. I have some car pix in raw but for the majority they are vacation pix that the wife shrinks down and prints on the Canon photo printer. Usually she uses the 35mm cheezy images from her crap camera (from the Walgreen's CD copy) so it's just not been worth the effort for the most part.SteveTheTech wrote:Why not just shoot in raw, if you are post processing anyway. I'm debating getting Lightroom 9.
blk/chrome look great alsoVickylee wrote:I just wanted to let you know that your Vert is beautiful. You've have some great mods on your car that I want to do. Hopefully soon I'll start with the new springs. I still haven't made up my mind about a new grill. Although my car is black, I have chrome rims. So I'm debating on whether to go with a black grill or a different chromed grill. I'd also like to put a new exhaust or ? to up the horsepower a bit and give it a little more growl. Of course there's more I'd like to do sooner rather than later but of course the costs are a little restrictive right now but your car is a great incentive.
