The LED is in the little opening. just to the right of the screw.

thanx elwesso, but there is no open area rt. of the adjusting screw. there is a phillips head screw just rite of adj. screw. around to the left there is an opening about the middle. just so we are on the same page this is a96Q. is there a test for the led operation? does the key need to be on? read quite a few previous post but wsa still unsure. i do have a fsm but is 100 miles away. ecu is currently laying in footwell. would really like to get this resolved, i think i understsnd the blink code but need to know where the blinking thing is. this units nos. are Al8-570 P46 6215 whatever thats worth. i believe this to be the original unit.

autozoned in the fl. keys. where would i begin? ok lets start with the autozoned ''tech''. i first explained to her that this is a free service provided by her co. when she got scan tool pluged in (i can only presume she used the correct plug connector) she asked if a Q45 was a GM, ford or chrysler product. i explained the concept of japenese imports whereupon she said she would try the ''Global OBD ll" button. made sense to me so we began. a couple of minutes passed and she says no codes. by this time i was just happy that no smoke came out of the OBDll connector and the screw driver in her pocket did not poke a hole in my seat. the following day i drove to KW, a distance of 50 miles to the OTHER autozoned store where they said no one there was competent to use the scan tool. as stated previous post, ya gets whut ya pays for. any one else that could chime in on a yea or nay led lite on a 96Q. does it have one? where is it if it does.

I think it's the CEL that flashes on an OBDII? Check it out - haven't tried mine.

Also, if you don't have an FSM, Wes can set you up. The procedure is detailed in the EC section, along with a table to translate the flashes to OBDII P codes.

Those Autozone employees are pathetic.

Anyone with an OBDII thingy should be able to pull the codes.... The idea with OBDII was to make sure it is all the same, so that your average idiot could at least read the codes...

I guess we're not dealing with the average idiot though...
