(puts flame suit on)

Ive been thinking of putting a 2jzgtte(supra TT motor) in to a Datsun Z.. cause ive seen that You can do a RB26 in one.. so i figured itd be basicly the same werk as putting the RB in but cost less for the half cut... Ive done V8 in to a Z awhile back.. but i wanna stick to an import motor this time...

soooo.... the question is... ive got the opertunitiy to get a 90 240sx w/o motor, tranny... for a really good price.... ive heard of the RBs and V8s into the ZX.. Wiring aside(thats the easy part) do any of you think that the 2jz will fit in to the SX... phisicly with the existing Twin turbo stepup on it??????

A crazy answer Dat a tight fit with lots of crazy fitting to do! B

But it sounds like you get a kick out of the hard stuff, will most like ley require that you tilt the radiator forward to clear the engine. and one good thing to think of is there are no turbos in the way of the steering column.

ya know happen to know any one whos done it.. or have pics.. didnt top secret do this?.....

but yea... the 2jz is a sick sick motor.. and i figure stock motor in a car that weights 1000 pounds less then a supra.. would be really bad ***.. plus its really easy to make 400-450 with the stock turbos.. and that should be plenty for street car..

didn't say that, this one was still twin turbo but it was around 600hp. Actually if you think about it the JZ turbos are on the passenger side of a 240SX vice the RB that mounts them on the Driver's side no steering shaft problems.

Both the RB25 and RB26 will fit in the 240Z and give you a nice car with as much power as you want and ALL NISSAN.....The take some work but it is worth it....

Powerhouse Racing here in Texas has informed me that the US version of that motor is stronger than its Japanese counterpart. I asked how, they just said about 30-40hp. Didn't list the reasons. They also said they can get a brand new motor for $2G.

I don't exactly know, short-block, long-block, or what. But I will try to find out.

I had a price of $3000 from a dealer here in NC, J spec. I was told the J spec was stronger???????????

I have a friend that was wanting to swap a 1jz or 2jz into a Toyota truck. Something to piss the Mustang crowd off, and not have to go V8.

Negative sir. $2000 Is the cost of the short block alone.Powerhouse is also notoriously slow to complete work. I've heard a number of horror stories about cars sitting in the garage for months not being moved or worked on.

The J spec supra engine is weaker. Smaller turbos, smaller cam, smaller injectors, and some other things i forget at the moment. The US 2jz-gte supra engine is the strongest one and is comparable to an RB26dett.

Sounds like Hennessey tactics. Thanks for the info though.
