I've got just a few questions I was hoping someone(s) could answer for me;

1) I'd really like to replace my steering wheel but I'm afraid I'll lose the use of my cruise control since the only controls for it seem to be built into the oem one. Am I correct or is it possible to move the controls elsewhere?

2) I saw these kits on ebay that interested me. What they are is tail light lens wraps that allow you to have only red taillights (no white or amber). Since my vert is red I thought it'd look really nice on it; kind of stealth looking. My question is are there any laws you know of (especially here in CA) that state your brake lights "must" be amber/yellow and/or your running lights or reverse lights "must" be white?

3) I'd really like to replace my rims/tires with aftermarket ones. What's the largest size people generally put on verts? Am I correct in believing it's 17"? I have seen quite a few with 18"'s though. Is there anything special that needs to be done for them? What are the pros and cons of 17" vs 18"? The only reason I ask is because I'm looking for a used set and I'd hate to limit myself. In other words if I see a killer deal on a set I like but they're 18" I need to know if I should go for it or if I need to wait on something nice in a 17".

Thanks a lot guys for any help on all this. You're advice and assistance has been invaluable -Glyph

1) you will lose cruise control.

2) Dunno - but if its like that on every other car, thats on every road in the USA - why would you think it isn't?

3) 17's will rub. 18's will rub. Even my 15's rub - due to my lowering. Check not just this forum, but google as well. There are ton's of pro's/con's with wheel sizes, not just limited to 240's. That being said, in my personal opinion - I believe 16's are the way to go.

1. You CAN relocate your cruise control buttons. Do some searching around, as it has been covered before.

3. It doesn't appear that the guy has lowered his car at all. So, 17's and 18's won't automatically rub. I've seen kids fit as large as 19" wheels on their stock height 240sx. However, you will have a VERY short sidewall. With that short sidewall, your ride will be more harsh and your chances of bending/breaking a wheel are greater. You CAN however, fit a decent size tire on a 17" wheel. If you're staying stock height, I'd recommend around a 17x7.5 or 17x8 and a tire between 215/45/17 and 235/40/17, depending on the width of the wheel.

3. Go with the 17's, I had 18's for a a few years, but in the end wasn't very happy due to the lack of sidewall. With no sidewall, the slightest pot hole usually kills the tire(atleast here in New England). Goodluck.

you can relocate the controls easily, they're just wires and three buttons.

(no blue lights anywhere, only rear facing red lights)
