Hey guys im new here and finding everything great.I just bought a 1994 Black 240sx convertible limited edition and have some questions to ask. When driving occasionally the rpm goes high and doesn't shift. Common problem? Bad? easy to fix? Also something i am quite worried about is when driving mainly over 40 mph sometimes under the throttle response is all over the place wether when you accelerate it doesn't respond or when your just driving when the engine light comes on it gives no throttle response. its not just delayed its more than that I just hope its not serious. Thanks for you help -Zach

No overheating issues at all. well so far. just registered it today and drove it around town, no highway yet. and it shifts beautifully. just sometimes it doesn't shift and you have to let off the gas and then its good to go pretty much. what did you say about pick and pull? lol can you explain more on that? Thanks for replying so fast dude!

When I first got my 1993 240, it was auto. I had that same problem where it would sometimes refuse to go from first to second gear, the rpm's would just rise.....and sometimes letting the throttle off at like 6k would result in a shift.

What you have to do is disconnect one of the grey plugs near the intake manifold, I believe it is called the "revolution sensor". Do a search on NICO or google, you will surely find the correct thread regarding disconnecting it.

This will COMPLETELY fix your first-second shift delay, it is not a mechanical problem with the transmission, it seems electrical.

Good luck.......btw go 5 spd. when you get the change, it is possibly the best thing I've done to my car.
