Greetings to the community,

Since the winter is right around the corner, on the East Coast at least, I need to fix a couple of things before something just breaks.

After last winter which was brutal I started to have suspension issues, probably since the roads here in NY are for crap.

In any event has anyone experienced steering wheel jerking when hitting a bump with the left or right front wheels.

A little mechanic birdie told me that there may simply be some bushings that need to be replaced and at the same time, I'm getting some nasty noises from the front end when steering left to right while idle.

Lastly, I'm at 62,000 miles and I'm pretty sure i'm due for a transmission service of some sort. As I have an M35X i'm a little hesitant to goof with it myself as from what I can tell there is no transmission stick and it will require some special tools. If anyone could provide some insight as to this it would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help or advice ahead of time....

I don't know if anything is wrong with your car. Infinitis have steering feel. So you will feel the steering wheel tug and pull according to the condition of the road. Many cars don't have this because many consumers would think something is wrong. As long as your alignment is good, you probably don't have a problem.

Thanks for the reply.

Maybe I should clarify. I am all too familiar with the steering feel of the vehicle. This is my 4th Nissan product and it seems they all have the same nuances.

With that said, the wheel jerk I am experiencing is not normal and the steering rack is making noise when the wheel is turned when stopped. This would lead me to believe there is something wrong with the steering whereas when a decent bump is hit the steering wheel does a hard jerk. I doubt i'm the first one to deal with this and if so I will be an anomoly.

As for the transmission servicing, has anyone done it on their own? If so, is there a DIY posted?

Thanks
