Does anyone know how hard it is to remove the door lock timer?

Are the door lock timers interchangeble from 1992-1997 J30's?

Did all J30's come with keyless entry?

The door lock timer is fairly easy to remove (assuming you're ok with laying on the driver's side floor and reaching up under the dash). As I recall, it is a gray box (maybe 1" x 3") located right near the steering shaft. There is a smaller, dark brown box that sits right next to it. Both are attached to the same bracket, which is held in by a single 10mm bolt. Remove that and down it comes.

There are two part numbers for the J30 door lock timer. One ends in 70 and one ends in 77. I am not sure if the two are interchangeable. Every J I've come across in the scrap yards has had the 70 timer.

Yes all USDM J30s came with factory keyless entry.

Thank you for the detailed answer I got the door lock timer out.

Do you know how to take out the M2, M3, M4 Diode and the multi remote control unit relay #2?

Where are the above located as well?

What is the lock knob switch for on the two back door?

Can you lock the car from the two back door or just the two front ones like the Q45?
