Hi guys!

thanks for allowing me to sully your ranks! :chuckle:

I need to get my 2002 I35 in for transmission maintenance, and will probably do the drain and fill, instead of the flush. What fluid does everyone recommend? I noticed that Amsoil ATF has a synthethic fluid, so I'm thinking this may be a possibility?

Also, I've got a bit of a clunk going over bumps on the front passenger side, which wasn't relieved by installed new struts all around. In reading, i've noticed more than a few people saying that they found it was a weak motor mount, and after changing it out, it went away. I'm planning to order the motor mount for that location, but wanted to ensure I order the right one. Here is the one that I found, that i think is the right one:

Lastly, I plan on buying the part and having a local shop owner that I know install it for me. What kind of labor time am i looking for this part?

Thanks for any help, I appreciate the input! Looks like a great forum to be a part of.

Doug

Im not sure a motor mount would cause a clunk. These mounts are electricly controled. A bad mount would sound like a kind of buzzing/whining sound. A clunk sounds like a bad bushing. As for labor on the mount, all data says 1.4 hours for one.

Motor mount could cause the clunk. When you did the struts did you do new strut bearings too?

The mount you are looking for is the "Engine Mount Right", it's the one on the passenger side by the drive belts. I replaced mine and it solved the clunk problem. It shouldn't take any more than 1-2 hours to install.
I used Mobil semi synthetic when I did the drain/refill on my transmission.
