I'm kinda getting annoyed that the interior of my a/c doesn't seem up to par for a $25k car, but then again, I was cheap and didn't opt for the leather interior. At some point in the future I might opt for trading in towards a Z, and again, would be faced with the choice of shelling out an extra $5k (from enthusiast model to touring) in order to get the upgraded interior, better stereo, etc.

Does anyone happen to know if the Z's interior is even any better than the a/c, or rather are they basically the same?

Another thing I would have to consider though is winter driving / snow, the a/c just couldn't do it until I bought winter tires, and I'm guessing the rwd Z is even worse.

thx!

interior is a product of the package.. if you dont get premium... dont expect it to be.... and yes a z would be worse in snow...

Well I own a 350Z and a base 3.5 A/C. The interiors in both aren't leather, if you got the premium package or whatever of course you would probably like the interior a lot more. I also just got home from driving through some pretty bad snow, and the A/C handled pretty darn good. Since just got the A/C and are thinking of another car I suggest you wait it out for the '370Z' thats due out soon. Im not sure on the specifics of the new Z though, you should look into it.

I own a base 3.5 A/C and my dad owns a 350Z. I wouldn't even think about driving the Z in the snow. The Z is a 35th anniversary edition from 2005 and it only has 12,000 miles on it because it barely gets driven in the winter. The interior of the Z is very nice in comparison to my base A/C, but it is the upgraded package with leather, nav, and all that good stuff. Just comes down to practicality I guess.

the interiors of prem pack. Z's and prem. pack. A/C's are pretty close to the same. both are a slight step down from the interior of the G35 and G37 IMO!

i was pumped i as going to get prem package and nav package but then i found i can't get around the leather. this is a problem for me because i want this car to last at LEAST 5-7 years. And my sister got a nissan pathfinder and she got it with everything!!! she rubbed it in my face but 3 years later you can see the lether crack as you sit in it. so leather dosen't last long. (also in the auto shop alot of people have lether trim and i look at the year of the car and i just shake my head )

interior of the Z is light years better than the coupe. although it doesn't quite match up to infiniti, it doesn't feel like cheap plastic.

I was just at the dealer the other day and sat in both...The z was 40G's

Both interiors were garbage....Typical Nissan

For the Price.....The Z was horrible...The plastic would embarass Fisher Price

wow, thanks for $hittin' on our cars... anyway, I wouldn't say the interior is garbage, but for 40K, you would hope that it was a bit nicer on the Z...

yes, the interior could be improved on the A/C and the Z (especially the Z for the price), but again, the Z was never meant to be a luxury vehicle. in regards to putting highr quality interiors in the A/C, they can't put G37 quality leather in a 25K car, which is what they'd be doing in the 2.5 A/C w/ prem. package.

Let's not forget that the Altima has come leaps and bounds from generation 1 to generation 4. The interior is much improved over generation 1 and 2 Altimas, and is still slightly improved over generation 3 Altimas. This car has slowly gone from a $16-$17,000 small sedan, to a nice mid-sized Sedan/coupe... and with that, although the interior is not luxury quality, its still far from being GARBAGE!

ok, due to your apparent extreme use of profanity, I can't understand what you said. And yes, generation 3 Altimas were 30K, but generation 1 Altimas were 13K -17K invoice.

In regards to Honda interiors, yes, I do think they are a step above Nissan's in comparative classes, but not far enough to say that Nissan interior is garbage... oh and I too HATE Hondas!! Again, the interior is not the best, but I wouldn't say its garbage. Let's just agree to disagree on this one! Its a matter of personal opinion, but I would have to say that 90% of Altima owners would disagree with you!

when i was at the Nissan dealership to get my car, they had the Z on sale for the same price (or like 1k more) and my dad told me to go ahead and get the Z if i wanted but i sat in both of them and i liked the a/c better. the main reason i chose the A/C is because of the back seat. i'm 19 (about to be 20), single with no kids but the Z had absolutely no room. my brother's C5 has more room and its a convertible. seemed like if i put my back pack in the trunk, there would be no more room in the car. its a 2 seater with pretty much no trunk. i prefer RWD (live in cali so no snow here) but the A/C doesn't really have torque steer so its good and in snow and heavy rain the A/C is better.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Nissan and probably would buy another. However, the interior on their cars is bad!! Not bad for a 20K Altima..But when you buy a fully loaded Altima that will cross the 30barrier........It is just not acceptable to me anymore. I was blinded by the vq when I bougt mine.....And failed to see the cheapness that surrounded me...Extreme cheapness. But, I still love her

Have you seen the interior of most GM's like the last year Grand Ams....The G6 is a step in the right direction but about the same in price and quality with the better engine in the Altima.

I think the Holden (gto) spoiled you

I just recently sat in my friend leased 2005 Honda Accord EX-L and I have to say the leather is nothing special. Her passenger seat(which usually gets less wear than the drivers seat) looked terrible. Cracks (not tearing, just the creasing) were all over the seat. This was a 3 year old vehicle with 35k miles. Maybe the Accord interior styling(which I have a 2004 as well as an 08 Altima Coupe) is a little better looking, but it is not made of any better materials. The accord interior feels cheap in spots too. The upper dash of the those Accords are hard plastic. The Altima is all soft touch. The one complaint I have (again in how it looks) is that the doors are a little plainly designed (again not made of any cheaper materials than the Accord, just not styled as nicely).

If that aint the pot calling the kettle black (no puns).

As for the interiors of the cars in question - I agree they are probably all in the same league - although I haven't seen the AC or Z interior yet - I know the Infiniti can be no worse. The Infiniti interiors are ok - but the materials on my prior car - a 1995 Lexus LS400 - were superior to the G..

I gotta agree with willy, the nissan interiors are absolute garbage. in fact, they are quite comparable with american interiors....it just doesn't LOOK as bad.

Hmm, I didn't say he shouldn't use profanity, just that I couldn't understand his message with the large number of blank words. Anything could have gone there.

As far as your "no pun intended..." wouldn't have thought it if you hadn't said it... think it says more about you than anything else... man, just when I was beginning to enjoy your sparcity on the Altima Coupe forum, oh well, welcome back...
