the Turbo kit coming out for the A/C 3.5se is pushing 448 WHP right? well what would that be to the crank or flywheel? i heard that you lose 15% to 20% from hp to Whp.... 550 minus 15% would be 467. or 550 minus 20% would be 440. so 448 falls in between those so converting 448 WHP to HP would be around 550 HP right? someone please correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not too good with the conversions from WHP to HP or vis versa

You lose about 20%.. But i dont think the turbo put out by fox marketing is practical at all.. Your guna have to buy the turbo, make your own hood and then stay out of boost range when city driving.

Also, its a FWD car. I dont know how the cpu will handle 440 whp, but i know with the stock 270 , whenever your wheels slip the cpu stops power from the engine. = No movement

Anyways, itd be cool to have turbos though.. peace.

well if you knew anything about the turbo kit released you would have read that they are putting a smaller turbo on this kit so u wont have to do a custom hood, u dont have to stay out of boost for city driving, u can always turn down your boost, and the cpu will handle 448whp because thats what the car was dynoed at, and it will only cut the power if your traction control is on, if its off then it will spin.

yep, just push the VDC button and all the power is there without any interference.

Does the kit have any mention of a ECU tune? Turbo is going to be borderline useless if the engine management doesn't get tweaked. I would be doubtful that the stock comptuer could handle any substantial jump in power.

so are they moving the battery to the trunk because there is no way youre putting a turbo in the 3.5 without a hood mod.

i read somewhere that they were using GReddy eManage Ultimate to tune the car.

I don't think the VDC is the same thing as the Traction control. I think if you order the VDC, then you have VDC AND TCS

VDC stands for vehicle dynamic control, it keeps you from losing traction and control, and i believe you can only get it on the 3.5l as an option, turn it off and you can smoke your tires as long as you want.

And what about a turbo kit for the guys like me that have a 2.5l? I've looked around but i haven't found anything even worth mentioning. Has anyone else had any luck?

Why are you so concerned about traction control? If you want to loose traction for some reason you don't need a turbo to do it.

isn't it cheaper and better to upgrade to the V6 than trying to boost your 4cyl?

Yea in this case considering its 100 more horses. Most models that have a 4 cyl and V6 models arent seperated by 100 hp. However a good turbo kit at 10 psi would give you 100 hp and of course that great BOV sound!

Not something that I would do... But I think it would be pretty damn cool having a 2.5 Turbo.

It's like having a sleeper... Smoke those over-confident bastards

So let me get this straight. The demo car they built put out 448 WHP at who knows what PSI boost, but the production kit will have a smaller turbo and is expected to put out the same numbers? My advice would be let the kit be out on the market for awhile and see how others make out with it. I think my biggest concern would be what has already been mentioned, ECU management

448whp at 10lbs just so everyone knows, i had talked to the actually maker of the kit a couple months ago about release and pricing

I'm sorry, but i don't believe for a minute that the prodcution kit they are releasing will put out 448 whp. Think about it. The car stock is putting out around 235 to 240 at the wheels. You actually believe that this turbo will put out 200+ more ponies? And at 10psi? No friggin' way. If they are using a smaller turbo, the numbers will be much smaller than their show car.

I'll believe it when i see it.

Later...probably a few months after the Manual kit is made.
