The 94 Q45 a/c just stopped blowing and its hot!

I have reviewed / searched for troubleshooting for the q45 but have not found much.

So far I have checked all fuses in the cabin and under the hood. I ordered a replacement blower from AutoZ thinking it was the blower. I hot wired the original when I pulled it out and it actually worked. I looked under the dash within the a/c area and everything is connected.

What now? Am I missing something?

Anyone with some guidance please post or shoot me and email at [email protected]

Unless one has a HVAC certificate from a Trade School/Vocational College and all the $10,000 in tools and test equipment, the usual proceedure is to take vehicle to an AC specialists ALONG with your copy of PDF FSM so the specialists can check for unusal circuits unique to the Q45.

All lux V8 HVAC had automatic temp control in 1994.

Do it yourselfers should start by reading FSM section HA where there are 125 pages of very detailed test proceedures. Many people will need to readthis section 6 times and research some proceedures and acquire test equipment not in home inventory.

Follow FSM for detailed builtin diagnostic system!

*got it to open... talk about a lot to read. Sh?t! I thought this was going to be an easy fix.

Why couldnt it just be the blower?!?! I guess I better start reading and wait for more posts or guidance from the forum.

Dennis (q45tech) is correct if you really would need to service the A/C system. But your problem may be as simple as Fan Control Amplifier. Usually, when it fails, the blower only runs at full speed or not at all. You can look for a posting by "Skibane" about repairing the Fan Control Amplifier, zerothread?id=433421, or you can buy a replacement from IoS, http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

Have you tried the self diagnostic for the HVAC system in the service manual?

There's got to be a decent automotive AC shop in Houston.

Order a drier from Joe and go there. TexasOil has referenced a shop in Houston also. Then there are about 4 dealers. I don't know if any have an original senior technician.

Thanks for the post but on the Infiniti Parts Online store I seem to not find the fan control amplifier? Is there another name for it?

I just got back from a weekend trip. So I will be reading this 100+ page portion of the service manual.

Houston is 3-4 hours away. Im in Central Texas just an hour north of Austin off IH35. Any recommendations on this side...

When it doubt, go to the dealer as the labor is only around $20-25 per hour higher than most independant shops, and their expertise on your model should shave total labor hours as compared to somebody not familiar with the Q. The free loaner while yours is in the shop also makes things easy.
