So you can get these, and have the racingline y-pipe and whatever other exhaust you are currently running. If you have ever done any mods to any other cars that have test pipes then you know on a stock car this will throw a code. But if you have a bd gt tuner, or are using uprev, utec etc, these tuners can get rid of the code. Also they sell something called a O2 optimizer quite a few places that basically just tricks your O2 sensors into thinking that they are fine all the time. Either route you go you should gain a good amount of power and the sound will be more aggressive. As soon as they come out I will be getting some and Im gonna get the Uprev dealer close to me to tune the code out in my tune. Any questions just hit me up as Ive owned 2 cars now before my a/c that I had test pipes on. It may or may not pass inspection in states that use OBD2 testing, depending on how the tuner went about getting rid of the code, and if they do a visual which I doubt they look all the way up into there then it wont pass visual. But its a easy swap for the outcome and anyone can do it in there garage with some handtools and a jack or ramps if you need to switch back to the precats for inspection day. If you wanna wait then berk technologies said they would be coming out with test pipes and HFC's in the future the same as they offer for the g35/350z/g37/370z etc.
Wow good info. I would be worried about inspection, not sure how they check it in Texas, even though I've been through 3-4 of them, but never had any issues since I never had zero cats on the car. Hah. But sounds like it would be the next best thing to having a true set of headers for our cars....Hmm..
I think being catless altogether would also mean you gain some rasp from my previous and current experience (Ranga14 already has that issue to some extent with his turbo setup) with some loud popping etc., so I'd think having a resonator put in would really come in handy for those running Nismo or other catbacks (including the stock one) that don't have one. Plus it sounds much more "toned" if that makes sense.
Can't wait for these to hit the streets and get some videos to listen to.
