I just called Nissan Consumer Affair to see if there's an update on the seat rattling issue. No recalls yet. But they mentioned to me there's a recall on the Sway bar for the A/C. You can go to the dealer and reference the Recall ID PB051. The rep couldn't tell if it had to be replaced or inspected. Time to bring your Alty to the dealer for a look

ok, just called the dealer. No biggie. They just wanted to make sure the 2 nuts on the sway bar are tighten to specification.

Is this a rattle on the passenger side seat? I noticed this myself and also that the passenger seat seems to vibrate excessively when it is not occupied. Have others reported this as a problem with the A/C?

Cheers!

search around this forum and you'll see, my passenger seat rattles when nobody sits in it, esp if it's leaned back

Don't mean to hijack the thread but... does anyone hear a rattling coming from the area around the third brake light inside the car? Whenever I go to work, there is this maybe half mile stretch of the freeway that is very bumpy and I get a rattling noise for about maybe 30 seconds that I'm on that part of the freeway. It's annoying but nothing to yank my hair out over.

That's funny! My passenger seat creaks when someone is IN it and leaned back. I have a sedan and the rear deck also rattles over rough roads

I had that front deck crackling sound. Tightened up my dash speakers and now no more sound. Haven't gotten to the rear deck yet because of limited time. I'll keep you updated when I find out what it is.

I got the Bose system, it said it comes with 9 speakers, I noticed 3 on the dash, 2 on the doors, 2 in the back. Where are the other 2?

I suggest getting the recall done. I work at a dealership. The recall consists of tightening the 2 end nuts to 58ftlbs but some of them are missing the nuts.

As far as the seat concern goes, I have yet to see one come in with a creak. I have seen 07 sentras with that problem though.

I solved my own question.

In case anyone comes up on this problem, it is the covers in the back deck. They are cheap plastic covers that block the view of the metal prongs that are for the child seats. I flipped them up and no noise now. Kinda defeats the purpose of them being there but meh. Maybe if I can find some foam to go between the metal and the plastic that would solve the problem and still hide them.

If the sway bar is not properly bolted, is this going to make a difference in handling or will it just be a noise issue with movement of the sway bar?

Possible clunking noise. I have never seen/heard one that made any noise. But that doesnt mean it wont. Most of them are tight but arent at the right torque spec. Some are missing the nuts though, Id imagine you would notice a change in handling if the nuts are missing.
