I guess recharging the A/C will do the trick.

Make sure the fan blower isn't set to "OFF", for starters.

If it's not, check to make sure you have refrigerant in the system. You might have developed a leak. Also check the fuse while you're under the hood. If that doesn't do the trick, there are a LOT of sensors that should be looked at.

I'm not sure, but it should say on a sticker under the hood, as well as how much freon and oil.

Mandated conversion year was '93, so you should have the newer R-134a. Usually performance will decrease slowly until enough has leaked out that the pressure switch isn't activated. Cheap enough to buy a top off bottle from Pep Boys I suppose.

Thanks Seth, Ill go n check on those. Think its the fuse...when I go to press the AC button, the green LED light wont light up... would that indicate a blown fuse??

Thanks,RL

Could be. Could also be low (or too high) pressure or a broken pressure switch. If the fuse is fine you can test the pressure switch by disconnecting it and checking continuity with an ohmmeter.

Hard to say..."danger zone" on the cannister doesnt' tell what the actual pressure is, but it could very well be too high. Maybe air somehow got into the system? So the pressure was too high from the start...no gas went from the can to the system?Which fitting does the can hook up to? The one near the radiator, or the one in the back of the engine bay?

hey i didnt have the can even on i was just checking the pressure of the lowside or whatever it is called. it read like 80ish PSI this was both with the car off and with it one with the AC button pushed(which didnt do anything cause the clutch didnt engage)

Dont really remember when was the last time i used my A/C, lolnot considering the fact that, i work at nights, study during afternoons in the house or sleep, i m a vampire, holy ****, I AM.

I dont like using A/C in my 240 okay, you got a problem with that let me know, lol

and any chick who needs a/c, wont see fun driving in 240, you drive her in your toyota sedan or whatever, lol

My a/c has gone bad too, everything works, same symptoms like it was before, except it doesn't cool.guess it needs a freon.

check your freon, fuses. if u need a screenshot of service manual, shoot me an e-mail.

My 1990 240sx had good fuse, fan blow, but A/C wont work, so does compressor. when i push the A/C button and the LED light wont light up either. the previous owner said he took to shop and they tell him there is no leak. so 1. where is the pressure switch locate at?2. what else could be the problem?

thanks
