A/C removal Question.

Ok I just removed the A/C compressor and all lines from my 97 S14. I was just wondering if you have to plug the two fittings that go into the firewall, where the lines connected at, or if they can be left open? Why or why not.

Never mind, had searched before and didn't find it, researched and found ot it is the cooling unit. So it does not need to be plugged, but can be removed instead. Tommorows project!
