My a/c was not blowing cold so i took it to nissan and they told me there was a short in the compressor. I had my cousin put in a new compressor (used) and clutch and it blew cold for 5 minutes then a fuse blew and it was hot again. We changed the fuse and same thing happened. Any idea's.

Sounds like the short might be elsewhere aside from what "nissan" told you.. I would keep your Z away from dealerships, unfortunately many people will refer to a dealership as a stealership and 9/10 its the truth, sad yes but true.. Honestly better off doin some research on shops in your area other than dealerships (foreign car shops are usually your best bet even for a diagnostics) also you did go with a used compressor, where did you get it? Junk yard used or auto store refurbished used?

I might be the electromagnetic coil, part of the clutch assembly. If you have access to an ohm meter, measure the resistance it should be around 3 to 5 ohms. The short is in the coil if it's less than that. I had a similar problem and it was the coil. It kept blowing fuses. I replaced the coil on the compressor and it resolved the issue.

Try to see if the fuse will blow without the electrical connector plugged into the compressor when you turn the A/C on. If it does It then, there might be a short between your compressor and the compressor relay. If you have access to a meter that can test continuity, test between the connector, (the end you connect to the compressor) and ground, If you get a tone from the meter, there is a short to ground between that connector and the relay. I would then check for wire with chafed or melted insulation between those two points.

-It may even be a bad relay.
