I'm just about to get the 99 inspected and tagged and need to know about how to care for the A/C. The A/C system was disconnected for a bit and i need to know what to do to get it working.

Can I just repair damaged parts and have it charged? Do I need to replace the dryer? Can I tell my wife the truth that I only do dishes to get laid?

Yes. Air and moisture is never good. Why not perform a vacuum leak down test first? Then if it holds, cahrge and lubrication with the new dryer to specification.
