Even if you go through the trouble to just replace the wornout clutch now, at 180,000 miles of use, the future replacement of your compressor is just right around the corner......no need to duplicate efforts and clutch parts costs/labor.....do it all now and be done with it for the next 180K miles.
Agreed 100%.
If I have to r&r the compressor, the A/C will wait until I can afford a new compressor.
If I can change the clutch without r&r'ing the compressor, I will do so.
I NEVER, EVER skimp on this car - every 3k, Mobil 1 changes, fluid changes ahead of schedule with all recommended or OEM, all suspension rehabbed (twice) with OEM parts from Joe.
I have spent nearly 30k on this car, including the 18k I paid for it when I had 72k on it. Need a few more miles to make my money back.
However, filed chapter 7 last week as hard times have come, and just can't justify $600 for A/C in September. Can't do it. $130 - maybe.
And...it will STILL break my heart every time I turn the key there is a junkyard part on my car. Every, every, every, time.
