Hello,

I am writing a request for help because I am now totally lost as to why the air conditioner in my 2006 Nissan Quest is not working. I have some ideas, but will just ask Forum members.

Problem is: getting warm air when AC is on. No cooling. The Charge is good. Pressures seem good. 50 psi suction and 300 psi discharge approx.

When I cut on the blower with out the hear or air conditioner on, the air blowing into the van is higher that out side air. Out side air is 77 degrees and air blowing into van is 90 degrees. Where is that 13 degrees of air come from.

Is it the air mixing door regulator? Need help because I am at a stand still.

One more question please: is the rear ac unit independent of the forward unit, other than the compressor? I also have no air conditioning from rear unit either.

Mike

I find this problem description difficult to understand. From what I gather, your heater is on simultaneously with the AC, if AC turns on at all.
So let's rewind: when you switch on the AC, does the compressor turn on? Do radiator fans turn on simultaneously? What mode is your AC control in (floor, windshield defog, top vents or floor and top vents)? Does the blower motor work on the front? Does the blower motor work in the rear? What is the rear AC mode (R, 1-4 etc)?

And most important, did you download the FSM and can you follow the AC troubleshooting steps in it?

Outside air at 80 will result in closed car temps of 115 for at least 5 minutes after starting car until the interior cools down by rolling windows down. Past that the heater output door is likely partly open, heat runs in most car heater cores 100% of the time now and only a closed door stops it from messing cold a/c up. Any leaked heater air instantly overwhelms a/c air.
