a/c problems

hello, glad to join the club. i just purchased an 86 300zx turbo and the a/c blows cold freon, the fan seems to blow on high nice and hard, but won't come out the vents on high, so motor blows on high but comes out as if on low. suggestions? thank you

Most of the heat and a/c issues with these cars is vacuum related. The flappers are all vacuum controlled. There is a single vacuum source coming from the engine compartment thats the first thing to check

if thats in tact the dashpots or bellows are the next issue, they are located on the trans tunnel under the dash just to the right of the gas pedal, if you scroll through here they have a picture of the box out of the car

ok looked at all this on my car, and the guy who sold it to me removed the whole thing! all the erg and vacuum lines and plugged them up! I'm s.o.l right? thats why it was cheap lol car runs great, a little hard to start, cold a/c but as i said earlier, vent won't open to blow high. i saw another one of your posts about a dashpot..?

The vac to the valve next to the firewall si for the heat, there is a second hose that comes from the vac canister that goes through the firewall and supplies vacuum to the dashpots that activate the blend doors. Sounds like you might need to find a donor at t junkyard and harvest all the missing bits.
