So I bought my 240sx while still living in Washington state. The car was fully loaded with AC and all the extra crap... When I did my SR swap I ripped out all the AC, thinking "I live in Washington, I don't need this crap!". Well now I live in Texas.... I reinstalled the AC system by buying all the parts from various people on various forums, I'm using KA24DE compressors with the Codyace brackets, and charging the system with R134a. Anywho, I have gone through 3, yes 3, AC compressors this year alone... I buy up a compressor and slap it on my car, swap the dryer, and evaporator, get the system vacuumed, recharge the system, and it works great for about a month, then goes to s***.

So, on to my question:

Are 240sx's really plagued with crappy compressors? or am I just having crazy bad luck??
I have decided to buy a new / remanufactured compressor (with a warranty) this time. I'm looking at a FOUR SEASONS Part # 67420 from http://www.rockauto.com since a new one from courtesy Nissan is over $500. Anyone have any input on this brand, or another brand / where to buy for a reasonable price?

Sorry for the long post, Thanks for any help!

Are you shooting in the proper amount of oil and turning it by hand a few times before running it?

Also, are you sure it's just not leaking out the freon? How do you know the compressor keeps going bad?
